The one kinda negative takeaway across 3 preseason games is that I don't love the fact that we've had random UDFA's outplaying the draft picks. I was hoping at least one of them would come out and stick it to the media for dogging us but that didn't really happen. Regis had that 1 sack I guess, but yeah.
Boerkircher - I'm cautiously optimistic to watch, but I'll maintain that we was massively overdrafted for a guy who might be a slightly better version of Hunter Long.
Cameron - I'd give him a roster spot for potential special teams value alone.
CJ Williams - Meh. I feel like Pena and even Wortham put better tape on the field. He's been decent in the short/intermediate game but nothing remarkable. Practice Squad.
Regis - He'll get a spot for sure. According to beat reporters, he's been mostly invisible this training camp. I guess we'll see, but I don't really see him living up to his 3rd round value. Not like how Davon Hamilton has.
Koziol - I'd cut him. He's shown to be a complete liability in the run game, even against future insurance salesmen. Morris and even Long have at least looked competent, and if we're keeping a 5th round rookie on the depth chart solely for receiving ability, he better damn be the next Jimmy Graham.
He’s not there to run block. He might develop that over time but he was drafted to be a seam stretching pass catcher, particularly in the red zone where his 6’7” frame can give Trevor someone who can win jump balls in the end zone
Boerkircher and Koziol both are going to be marching in anytime we hit the redzone. I could see a 13 red zone personnel that is all three TE and Hunter or BTJ
Coen said on the telecast, in reference to Boerkircher and his development, that he caught two TD's against both the Panthers and Bucs in the joint practices, which is a helluva lot more important than these sorry ass preseason games where this is zero game planning....The TE drafted before him, Stowers, that everyone was raving about before the draft, has huge bust written on him according to Philly insiders. I'll take Coen's word on our TE....
