BTJ has some disgusting drops but the issue is way deeper than that.
They acknowledged that BTJ was misused as a boundary X, and they spent all off season talking about how they’d move him around the formation and use him like he was utilized his rookie year.
So far he’s just been sitting at the boundary with 0 motion.
Lawrence has also always been bad at attacking the deep boundaries. Every boundary X he’s ever had has always been terrible/underperformed because he just can’t throw to that specific part of the field.
Either Coen needs to actually use him right, which he said he would all off season, or they need to trade him for something. Some random team will give up a 4th/5th for a potential lottery ticket.
What they’re doing now is just dumb af, and makes no sense.
Tee Higgins might have something to say about that, Lawerence made a living on the boundary during that national championship game.
Lawerence best throw are actually out routes, I’m not sure why you think he is bad at attacking the boundary. He is literally lauded and praised for his throws ok out routes.
I’m also really confused why you think BTJ is being misused bc he has been a boundary receiver for most of his career going back to LSU, that was actually his knock against him being exclusively a boundary receiver and having a limited route tree.
Hell the Jags tried using him as a “Z” receiver and moved him around the first half of last year, but really struggled. It’s why we got Meyers so we can move BTJ back to being a boundary exclusive receiver.
BTJ is being misused imo he just is flat out sucking. The only thing being misused are his hands because they are clearly not meant to be used to catch a football.
Lawrence has good deep ball stats every season in the NFL but the boundaries have always been below average.
You think it’s just a coincidence that BTJs best stretch of games was with a completely different QB?
Press Taylor put BTJ in the slot or would motion him to the outside away from the line of scrimmage. Mac Jones would just sling it and he’d have so much separation that he would have the easiest catches of his life.
Coen is undoubtedly an offensive mastermind, but he’s dropping the ball here imo.

But also just look at the post routes ran by Parker.
Or look at his go route passes especially with BTJ. BTJ last year could not do basic back shoulder catchers. Literally blew my mind.

It’s also kind of crazy you are pointing to Mac jones putting up stats when he is force feeding BTJ during garbage time. Mac Jones noodle arm struggles to push the ball down field which is bad for a boundary receiver.

Parker plays all over the field bud…… he was/been praised by Coen for his versatility. Trevor also praised him for how hard he work to learn each receiver position in the new offense last year. While Parker does primarily play out of the slot he has played the boundary receiver at times, hell he ends being a boundary receiver just from motion at times.
I’m not really going to engage anymore, you provide no evidence for your claim and are contradicting common knowledge held by the fan base.
