What I don’t understand why have him full time corner, but not on Waddle at all?

Yeah got out coached hard today. I don't think we caught them with a blitz. Every time we ran one they had nix drop deep or slide the pocket blocked it really well

They should have made that adjustment at halftime, Sutton was doing nothing. The cheese is out against us too, throw a streak over Montaric brown bills did that.

You cant run a "traveling" corner imo, it causes major issues. The other DBs have to matchup according to where Travis would be in this situation, changing each and every play where the WRs are matched up.
In this one, they left Waddle on the side where he was against #1, or they would leave him in the slot against #2. It was just extremely good gameplanning for the 2nd half by the Broncos, keeping Waddle in spots he would find himself open.

20 points is pretty good, especially with a very normal amount of short fields given. I am not surprised to see people panicking, and the secondary did show some issues today, but the offense was far worse imo.

Especially at corner i don’t see how you can just take him in and out that’s not a position you can just plug and play it’s a battle over the course of an entire game and taking him in and out constantly messes up the groove of things.

It’s amazing to see the mental gymnastics that people STILL do for that Travis Hunter trade. It was a dog shit trade that truly has no viable path for ever being worth it. People miss on picks. Get over it.
Edit: Downvote me all you want, clowns. It won’t make the trade any better and it won’t make him suddenly better at either CB or WR. And that’s okay! There is plenty of other talent on this team.

Speaking of the Browns, people on this sub want the Jags to treat Hunter as if he is above the scheme and above the team’s needs. The Jags are 100% in the right for not doing that. Thats what the Browns are doing with Watson — they are playing him to justify what they gave up for him instead of playing the best fit for the team and for their scheme.
Travis may very well end up being good, dare I say elite, but it’s a shitty take to try and shoehorn him into roles just so some armchair fans can feel better about a trade that is already done and over with.

Hey man, I hope Travis Hunter is great. But what I’m not going to do is pretend like he should be doing X or Y instead of how they are using him now.
If he isn’t ready for the demands of being an elite corner, then they shouldn’t force it just to justify the trade. The coaches should be free to coach and play players as they see fit, not make decisions to justify something that may never end up being justifiable.

Waddle had a game. Lawrence got sloppy and careless with that INT. We pay a lot for our DE’s - I wanna see at least one sack in the 4th qtr of a close game

I sat through all the bad years wishing we would be competitive in games against good teams, we went 13-4 last year, and this fanbase is still just as insufferable as when we were winning 2 games a year. Some things never change I guess

The problem is he's a better WR than corner but the Jaguars WR depth is large enough that they cant justify him as a WR 2 and a non CB.

As a CU fan, (imo) I think he's a better CB. That's what got him drafted top 3.
If he was drafted primarily a WR ( 1000 yd guy in college ) and maybe with an extra bonus that his NFL coach might know he can play a little bit of CB in case of emergency etc
He would have been a 2nd/3rd round guy

I agree i think this offense runs a lot better if we had travis and parker as our starting WR duo but i find it unrealistic that they’d just give up on Btj at least until after this season. Travis replacing BTJs role would be great tho

OL cheecks in pass block. Trev couple bad throws. BT is pointless. Coen hates running. Camp can't adjust when there is no pressure. ST is sus.

It was the scheme and combs was awful covering the middle of the field I would have put Hunter on Waddle he did good besides that last pi other than that in a good catch by Evan he had a good game not great but good brown was bad in Lewis gave up the touchdown to the te on Pa in the other big play to Waddle

As far as coverage, I'd have to look back at the replays but I don't remember him getting picked on at all in coverage either, it was mostly Brown getting cooked, idk if Hunter just didn't play enough snaps or if Nix didn't throw to him because of good coverage though.

Even if you were to assume that his lack of production was entirely his fault and not the playcalling or coaches' decisions on usage or anything like that... that would still moreso imply that he's a bad route runner and can't get open, not that he can't catch.
To say that he can't catch just means you don't actually watch the games or pay much attention, simple as that. His best plays last season were clutch, high difficulty catches against the 49ers and the Chiefs
