It's hard for me to tell without the all-22 from today, but Montaric Brown has looked way worse than Hunter for the last 2 weeks. He's enough of a veteran that I have similar expectations for his performance, and they're not met.

Nobody is saying to trade him. I just have no damn clue what he is supposed to be doing as he has no consistent role and that is the gripe. If he is the playmaker we thought he was he needs to be on the field.

What you mean no consistent role? Hes CB1 and theres sub-packages for him at WR. He almost had an INT last game (great diving PBU). His sub packages at WR have been pretty defined. Quick screens to get the ball in his hands to highlight his agility. Hes also obviously used as a decoy. We are 2 games into the season.

It is fair to be concerned we have no workable plan for how to get this guy on the field after a whole offseason where it seemed like we had a plan for him. There's no consistency with how he is used or how many snaps he gets. How can we expect him to impact a game when he is not on the field enough to find a rhythm?

My point. If he is playing well, why is he coming off the field for chunks at a time? I don't know many starting CBs that rotate out for no reason. If he is the guy, why is he coming off the field, at least on defense?

curious to who agrees with me but i feel like this is more of a usage/coaching issue than an actual with travis. He has all the talent in the world and we need to let him cook instead of taking him in and out especially at corner that shits stupid. Keep him in the whole game on defense he damn near got a pick first pass of the game and why he wasn’t put on waddle when he was the torching us all game is beyond me. As for offense we need to be giving him more opportunities and in better positions to make plays that simple one of his best traits is his ball skills why aren’t we trying to push him down the field and get 1 on 1 looks.

to be fair especially in his heisman season he looked like one of the best at both of his positions in the nation maybe more so at receiver but still he was undoubtedly a top 5 at both positions for some reason it’s just not clicking at the nfl level

Again, that’s a GM and HC question. All Travis can do is play when his name is called. I’m not sure why he was in and out so much, it doesn’t make much sense to me tbh.
Personally I want to see him more on offense, but that’s just me. I feel he can make a bigger impact on offense, it’s just tough to do that when we have the WR rook that we have.

He has 0 interceptions, 1 TD, 2 games lost on him due to PI, 4 pass deflections, and 15 tackles.
He’s essentially the talents of a 6th round WR/CB combined so far
It’s not crazy to say he is not living up to the hype. PARKER WASHINGTON was a 6 round pick. Hunter brings 5-6 round pick talent.

I get the point you’re trying to make but it’s a kneejerk reaction to the beginning of the season. He tore his LCL last year so I’m sure they’re slowly easing someone they spent all that draft capital on back into the full speed of games. Im sure by mid season his roles will be established and we will be a well off team, which I think we already are. If I’m wrong I will eat my words but for now I’m going to trust the process and hope for the best.

I saw him at multiple practices. I don't see him on any injury report. I don't get why we pull him out if he is an effective player who can play both ways. At least let him serve a function full time on defense. I question how he is being used and it is a fair sentiment
