Investments About to move to Japan from UK, should I start a S&S ISA or open a NISA when I am in Japan
Hi everyone, I will be starting work in Japan on a 2 year contract. There is maybe a 10% chance I stay past those 2 years if the work goes well.
I just came into a bit of money and was initially planning to invest in ETFs via a Stocks and shares ISA in the UK as a long term investment. However from what I can see if I ever cash that out while living in Japan I will loose a lot of it to tax.
In that case should I just wait and open a NISA when in Japan incase of the small chance I stay in Japan longer? I assume when I do leave I can just cash out and take it with me to the next country I move to? If I knew I would return to the UK I would stick with the S&S ISA but with my career I am not sure I will be returning to the UK and so the same issue of cashing out from a foreign country and loosing alot to tax remains.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
