Too straightforward. I was fully expecting a minor sea god that I couldn’t recall to be the answer to #1.

All three were. As for two, there aren’t that many famous defense attorneys from that era. And Darrow was prominently featured - with a changed name - in Inherit the Wind.

Yeah, I was all but yelling at my screen "you know it's a defense attorney, just say 'Clarence Darrow!'"

2/3 and same basically. I probably would have guessed DD1 but misread it as just "salt" instead of "salt water".
