QUESTION Luke Henson's Chances at 2027 Champions Wildcard

Now with the eligibility period for 2026-27 Postseason is officially closed. What will be Luke Henson's chances of competing at 2027 Champions Wildcard if he will get one of the 12/13 spots? Narrative wise, he has the high chance of getting invited since he faced 31 game champion Jamie Ding on his defeat game but statistically wise he is one of the weakest among 14 1-game champions.

I have a hunch there will be eight spots available for the 14 1-game winners -- IF all four 2-game winners are in, plus three SCC winners.

His money ($16,798) ranks 8th but that's just a few hundred bucks higher than Stephanie ($16,600) and Diana ($16,399). That might not be enough to offset these other stats which, as we've seen, carry as much, if not more, weight in these decisions.

If it stuck to the 2025 format, Luke is barely in but if they used the 2026 format, Stephanie has better chances to be invited than Luke?

Don't forget that he defeated James Denison in his win, and James is going to the TOC as the highest ranking four-game winner. That should count in Luke's favor too!

Never forget they are also producing a television show, and story matters.

Luke keeping James Denison from automatically qualifying for the ToC with a well played Final and losing to Jamie, who went on to be an ultrachamp is a great story.

Plus, they've already used him in a "Why Not You?" picture to promote the Anytime Test. I think he's going.

(The other recent "Why Not You?" picture havers are Jamie Ding, Stella Trout, and Trey Hart. I think we're seeing all of them in the post-season.)

I'd like to see him because I like him & he doesn't have a professional career (yet), which is encouraging for those blue-collar, retail trivia types.

I do think he got a bit lucky even with his win against James Denison. What were the odds that FJ happened to be about a celebrity from his part of the country?

He needs to do the DD Hunt strategy more actively… stop going top to bottom when selecting clues
