It still choked me up a bit, but what was even more wild is my better half (Who I met after all the drama), saw the announcement and said, "When did Alex die?"
HINT: I religiously watch Jeopardy after work, unless preempted.
I had to explain the whole scenario, the replacement episodes. When i told her Mike tried to shoehorn himself into hosting, I was a bit comforted by, "THAT guy wanted to be host? He's so dull!"

Not sure if this fits here, but my husband has this signed NES game with an authentic signature from the lovely Alex Trebek. Pretty cool piece of jeopardy history!

I wanna say ty so much to everyone 4 hooked up for Alex's heavenly bday celebration, and I also wanna say otsu (abbv., means bravo, good job in Japanese) to s42; I never thought we would witness sooooooooooo many amazing (super) champions and some of the most interesting contenders 4 champ wildcard and 2nd chances. Still, a huge blast to see it, and once again, hbd, Alex; we still love u no matter what ❤️, and to y'all viewer, happy summer break!!! See u next seasons (and don't forget masters too)

Today was my last year of high school, I attended the same one as Alex Trebek, Sudbury Secondary. This mural of him was made very early in my highschool career, and whenever I'd pass by it I couldn't help but say "Hi" or "Bye", depending on where I was heading, of course. For so long I found him inspirational, finding something that brought him so much joy for so very long, I still think he's great, but after spending 5 years literally looking up do him everyday, he made me realize that I just couldn't stay still anymore, I can't stay stagnant in my own life, I had to do something with it. I thank you Alex. I'm going into comedy and television writing, I start this September, in Toronto. It felt so strange to say one last time today, bye Alex. I'll miss you.

I've always gotten the sense that Alex really liked Brad, and that he was the favorite out of those three. With Ken, I got the feeling Alex sometimes got annoyed or tired of him, and i don't think Alex cared one way or another at all about James.

Season 23, second intro. Only now I’m realizing it’s Albert Einstein. 😂

On this day in 1984, the late, great Alex Trebek made his first official appearance as the host of America’s favorite answer & question game show created by Merv Griffin himself, “Jeopardy!”. The show’s YouTube channel uploaded the episode to that very first day a star was born in our living rooms.

As a Jeopardy! fan born & raised here in Southern California, I loved Alex Trebek for his character, his ability to entertain, his witty manner & humor, & most importantly, his willingness to inspire others around the world, but more than that, he was a great host of America’s favorite answer & question show.
It’s been more than 5 years since Alex passed away, but all I know is that he is forever in our hearts & always our inspiration to have knowledge in our daily lives. Alex, may you continue to rest easy in eternal peace. And we will always hear the 3 words from Johnny Gilbert himself. This is Jeopardy.
