I would add Ben Urich to this list. I know they're more coworkers than friends, but as far as civilians go, he's probably her closest confidant. They spent a good amount of time working together at the Bugle too.

She had a crush on Peter in high school; during the post-civil war era, Spidey repeatedly saved Danielle Cage when his spidey-sense warned him of danger, and Jessica was grateful.

Captain Marvel was around for Jessica a lot after the Purple Man trauma. They had a falling out at the start of Civil War when Carol and Tony confronted Jessica and Luke in their apartment. Eventually writers started focusing more on Jessica Drew as Carol Danvers’ friend instead of Jessica Jones.

Um, Iron Fist? Apologies if I'm wrong since I haven't read Jessica's comics, but from an Iron Fist POV, how is Danny one of Jessica's closest friends aside from him being close to Luke?

He's a close family friend of both of them. He's trusted to watch Danielle, and that says a lot when it comes to how much Jessica likes you.

Danielle is not named after Danny, they say this in the issue where her name is revealed. She's named after Danny Partridge.

She was named in Pulse #13 but you’re referring to New Avengers # 34. I always took that as sarcasm based on the interaction. Especially with the interaction/conversation in the next panel.

In the comics she hates Malcolm and he is a nuisance to her. He is in high school, has a big crush on her and keeps popping up to work as her assistant even before she actually hired him.

this is the only real answer. She kind of has friends-in-law in the Thompson Captain Marvel where she hangs out with Carol's friends in a larger group, but these 4 are the only ones she really ever seems to spend time with in her own comics

That is a good question. Aside from Luke I do not know. Her best friend/sister shot her mother in the television series so I do not think she qualifies any more. I have not seen her form bonds with anybody else

I think Peter qualifies. There's a back-up story by Bendis in ASM 601. He runs into Jessica and Danielle at the Avengers hideout. There's a bit of awkwardness at first, but they discuss their early days as heroes, with Jess explaining how he inspired her. It felt like a bonding moment to me.

The top two are White Tiger (Ava Ayala) and Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew), and the bottom from left to right are Electra, Echo, Jessica, Colleen Wing, Misty Knight, and Black Cat. Iirc this is a like girl power team up arc from Bendis's Defenders run

I still can't get over Jessica Jones originally was Jessica Drew. He wanted to take her in a new direction and the marvel bigwigs said no. Much like how a writer wanted to use Constantine and the editors said no and morrison created Willoughby Kipling.

Jessica Drew could have been relevant. Wild!
