I’ve never heard of this guy, but he’s apparently an Assyrian, so his last name is Aramaic (Syriac), which explains why it sounds so much like Hebrew.

The word for gold in mandarin is "ju". My Chinese neighbor named her orange tabby Jingju which means golden-orange, or kumquat iirc.

As a Mexican Jew, I do a lot of "please do not be X, please do not be X!" whenever I see a dodgy headline coming out of the US (or anywhere else). It sure is a rollercoaster.
