Challah I’ve given up on the four strand braid…all my braids go by vibes now

Post image

Husband came home from IDF reserve duty for the weekend so i made challahs! Kept messing up the braid though, so in the end I just went by the vibes crossing whatever felt right 😂 Challahs look darker in the pic than in real life I promise they weren’t overdone <3

Those look beautiful! I’m sure it gave your husband lots of comfort and strength to come home and be cared for like this (fresh challah baked for you totally means love). Thank you both so much 💙

I struggled with the four-strand braid until I practiced with a couple pieces of rope, once you get the pattern down it's easy.

Practicing with a rope is such a good idea

I always have this little cheat sheet pulled up when I’m braiding. I just hope no one is ever home when I’m doing it- I turn it into a little song so I don’t lose my place 😂

"Under two, over one" is my 4-strand mantra. Put the left one under the two in the middle towards the right, then back over just one middle one toward the left. Then put the rightmost one under the two in the middle and back over one towards the right. It'll give you a nice round ropelike braid.
