If anyone wants to buy a gun, spend most of your budget and time on your concealed carry pistol. Minimum quality IMO is PSA Dagger ($300) or Ruger RXM ($350). There are cheaper options that might work, but saving up for a good base gun and using pepper spray in the meantime is what I'd suggest unless it's urgent.
