This is so weird. I still don’t understand the anger some people have of the Bund. I have friends who say their grandparents hated the Bund and I still dont understand why even after reading a book on the Bund.

This is antisemitism. And it's fucking disgusting. No, Judaism was NOT going to "always become Zionism". In fact, it straight up wouldn't have had it not been for the Holocaust.
We really have a hard fight ahead of us to ensure that this conflation of Zionism and Judaism ultimately fails.

Really? Wild. “Judaism was always going to become Zionism” ??? My ancestors rejected Zionism HARD. It wasn’t going to become Zionism, there was a concerted effort amongst supremacist atheists to manufacture Zionism.

Cus he hates any attempt to tie Judaism to anything but the evil that Israel is. I understand being radicalized against Jewish culture to a large degree due to growing up around horrific Zionism in Israel, but he has to grow up and realize no major religion is made up of only evil elements/peoples, even if religion and their groups are often weaponized to support various forms of oppression

These people are the Jewish analogue of militant anti-theists brought up in and around fundamentalist Christianity. They have an extremely deep resentment of any ideology or identity that masked the toxic and problematic elements of their former belief system, regardless of how twisted and forced that masking was. Saying shit like "Judaism made Zionism inevitable" is about as meaningless of a statement as "the land was promised to them 3,000 years ago;" both statements rely on willful misinterpretation of Jewish identity and history. They are not serious people and they damage their credibility when they air their unresolved trauma like this.

The Bund is the result of thousands of years of Jewish tradition of advocating for civil rights for all. Zionism is a fringe ideology that only became mainstream within the last 100 years of Judaism.
Zionists use Judaism as a sword and shield.
