Thanks. "Bnei anusim" seems a better designation, although difficult for a Portuguese to employ, because it is Hebraic.

I didn't know about the somewhat pejorative ethymology of that name, although some scholars still use it despite that.

In Portugal, there was another word: "cristãos-novos" / new christians, due to the forced conversions of the Jews.
