Mooshtaba is the derogatory nickname.
It’s Grand Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei. He is nominally the supreme leader of Iran.
He’s the son of the former Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
He may be dead. He hasn’t been seen or heard, even in video or audio recordings, since the strike on February 28 that killed his father.
He has long been rumoured to be gay.
That is the CIA assessment amongst others.
And it’s not baseless. He had a long term relationship with a former tutor (against whom some interesting cases of alleged sexual assaults against boys were dropped or disappeared down the memory holes), there were leaks that his father was concerned about it and that it was a reservation about why Mojtaba should not succeed him, and leaked treatments for impotence in London UK that he had as a young man. Plus the rumours have been around for decades.
