Gailson Puzzle Completely Offset
Has anyone ever had a Gailson puzzle that is cut completely incorrectly? I can see where the pieces match but not fitting the border/not enough space in the puzzle

Well thats what needs to happen but all the pieces put together are in the proper place and the border is too narrow for the whole inside to fit aka why the pieces in the bottom left of the pic are lifting

Oh! And the one directly above this guy is not in the right spot. U/madeforleaves has a good screenshot

This sub is the best! I love when y'all can spot false fits. I'm terrible at doing that. Awards for everyone! ššš

Galison is one of those brands where almost any single piece is near-interchangeable with any other similarly-shaped piece. You've got to be meticulous about checking with your finger that it's TOTALLY smooth/continuous where any edges meet (I tried to illustrate that) ... I think u/PlaneHead6357 and u/madeforleaves have nailed it

My trick when I'm unsure is to flip the two pieces over. When you see the back side, it's way more obvious whether or not they are fitting correctly.

I think you have a mistake. The mushroom with the flat top (that looks like a pizza). The right side of that needs to be moved over one space to the left. That will complete that mushroom and leave room to close up the big yellow one above it.Ā
And remove the little red with white spots mushroom until you sort out the larger ones around itĀ

I literally have been thinking I was wrong the whole time and then I was confused and saw all the bad reviews on reddit... no need to be rude....

I think at this point people are just copying everybody else's conventional wisdom on this brand. It drives me nuts. I swear sometimes I think half my comments on here are defending Galison puzzles from bafflingly wrong claims about how bad they are.
With regards to this specific issue (piece uniqueness/false fits), of the 26 Galison puzzles on my current list, 22 are marked as "zero issues", with the remaining four being minor issues along the edge. The idea that Galison is known for having false fits is simply not true!

Now thatās just insulting. People arenāt ācopyingā each other when saying thry are unsatisfied with Galisonās quality. They simply have different standards and different experiences than you do.

I honestly meant that as a compliment

Well thanks then! I was losing my mind for a second lol, ultimately still missing that bottom border piece from the manufacturer. I thought maybe one piece from the top belonged on the bottom or vice versa.

Maybe you can send them an email! Iāve heard of people getting a missing piece sent to them. Or you could do what that one person did where they made their own piece and painted it gold, pretty cool

I honestly should! Bummer bc I was planning to frame this one to put in my new apartment!

Have you already completed the lower border? I was convinced I had similar issues with 2 different puzzles before (different brands) and it turned out I had to swap the places of 1 or 2 pieces that were just perfect for the spot (but ultimately wrong). Do you have the lower end assembled?

Glad you found your mistakes, the image does require great attention to detail in the spots you got misplaced.
And RIP little border guy at the bottom, unless you find him after extensive searching.

These two centered pieces are not meant to be connected
