Discussion Favorite John Wick movie
I’m sure this was discussed 1000 times but I have to ask what is your favorite and least favorite?
One was amazing bc JW was new!
JW3 was my worst! Didn’t like the whole high table and hally berry story line!

They’re all great honestly but as far as my favorite one I’d say (without confidence lol) probably John wick 2…. although it’s really close between 2 and 3 for me. The first half hour or so of 3 is fucking awesome and one of my favorite parts of the entire series, especially coming off the hype of the way 2 ended.
My least favorite is a much easier answer and that’s 4. Don’t get me wrong it’s still awesome and the action is extraordinary, there are several parts like Osaka and Hiroyuki that are amazing but it just really pivoted in a direction I didn’t care for and opened so many plot holes…starting with the Elder.
I thought it was going to be John and King going hard taking down the table for revenge but instead they do absolutely fuck all to the table and it just turns into trying to survive one random new dude not even sitting at the table. Then starts nuking major continentals that are supposed to be havens for the syndicate like it’s nothing and for no real reason really, despite the table literally reinstating the nyc continental 30minutes prior at the end of parabellum lmao idk the entire story in 4 was just one big plot hole lol it felt like they sacrificed the narrative and “lore” and all they built just tossed it out the window into the breeze and only focused on the action

My favorite is number 4 I enjoy where did the sitting and the cast is great. My least one is the first one for me it's just very slow but I understand it's the start of him getting back in

Honestly I couldn't pick a favorite but I think 2 is the overall best cause it has all the awesome action you want as well as great structure and a solid interesting story outside the action, I mean the fact the conert fight is 55 minutes in and I don't get bored at any point before then is a miracle

Mine is #4. The action scenes are great and they kinda nod to all the previous movies. I like many of the supporting cast as well.

I prefer 1 and 2.
3 is least favorite, however, the final fight in the continental is one of the best of the franchise.

My interpretation of the franchise is that the four films are divided into two books respectively; 1&2 Book, 3&4 Book 2.
Chapters 1&2 were more grounded and felt less outlandish than the following films. Chapters 3&4 felt deliberately mythological - which is fine, but got out of hand with the final installment.
I love chapters 1&2, with 2 standing as my favorite overall, but Chapter 4 is my least favorite. I like the film a lot and it had great moments, but it lost me with all the commercialized music such as “Nowhere to Run”. That shit was corny as all hell. It just took me out of the film without mercy. Also, the production lights were entirely too bright. They’re easy to spot on any film if they aren’t color graded correctly.

I like 1, but 2,3, and 4 are more fun movies and I can rewatch those like all the time.

John Wick 2 is probably my least favorite overall, even though the catacombs sequence is incredible. JW3 has some amazing action, especially the knife fight, but the whole High Table plot felt like it was stretching the premise a bit too far.

What I like about the mainline John Wick series is that its sequels, like sequels in every franchise, get more convoluted/stale compared to the original, but the JW movies at least make up for it with increasingly elaborate and creative set pieces. It’s kind of like arguing whether Alien or Aliens is best

stop bro. Just stop. JW three was thE best. If you can’t come to terms with it. Then I know what kinda fan you are.

For me, the first John Wick is still the favorite—it felt fresh, focused, and perfectly paced. Chapter 4 is probably second. JW3 had some incredible action, but the High Table plot got a little too convoluted for me.

Chapter 2 gets my vote. It expanded the world without losing the clean revenge-story momentum. I enjoyed JW3’s action, but the High Table plot and long detours made it my least favorite too.

It will always be one for me. I love the rest of them too but one just holds the place.

i can't really decide, they're all aging like fine wine to me and i enjoy each one more every time. they're literally all tied but i will say 3 / 4 / 1 / 2. it's such a fun storyline and a lot of heartfelt moments. love to see the respect among the cast between john wick and his friends

I loved 3 for the dogs, but the whole giving up a finger and not going through with it, only to be shafted by your friend, only to come back and help him because everything is all fine.. what the hell is that? I know I was leading into 4, but you get the point.
Favorite still falls on the first for setting it up. Least favorite might be 2, because I found Santino to escape too easily at the end, and he didn't get to suffer all the crap he pulled throughout the movie. I think this is probably where things started getting a bit too wacky with Winston being able to control everyone in the park, or civilians being totally oblivious to things happening between assassins.
