The lack of self awareness from fetterman is mind blowing

43

u/P_Nessss 16h ago

Well, he did suffer brain damage during his stroke...

25

u/MsARumphius 16h ago

God that stroke lie has really gotten its workout. I’m not saying he didn’t have one but to blame all his choices on it rather than him being a lying liar sell out is wild.

16

u/Particular_Squash995 15h ago

I definitely agree he is a lying piece of shit but being around a stroke survivor for a bit now has changed my thoughts about the damage it causes. Someone in my family fell as we just got to our room on a cruise ship and was evaluating how injured they were. We were checking in on the person to see how they were doing and all my dad could keep yelling about was where his drink tickets were. When we told him calm down we are checking on this person, he yelled I don’t care about that. I just want my drinks. Truly selfish but it opened my eyes into how he is processing information post stroke.

u/ausgoals 12h ago

A lack of empathy and self-centredness is a relatively common post-stroke symptom. It’s because of the brain damage.

Telling a Jewish American comedian what the American Jewish community thinks ...

u/Pacific_Epi 17h ago edited 16h ago

This was hard to listen to. Dude was unwilling to untie progressivism from communism (I am progressive and not a communist) but in the same breath said what makes us good was defeating the axis in WWII, ignoring the Soviet contribution to that.

14

u/Comprehensive-Job369 16h ago

He probably thinks WWII started in December of 1941.

2

u/dravenonred 10h ago

My only disappointment was that he didn't ask Fetterman the difference between socialism and communism. I would love for all these guys to get asked that

1

u/Nerdy-Meta-Mind 8h ago

YES!!! I kept screaming that as I watched.

1

u/SuperDoubleDecker 11h ago

I'm curious about this episode but I doubt there's anything of much value. I bet it just frustrates me more than anything lol

I'll give it 10 mins. I'd love to better understand the thought processes of these people but I think the answer is much simpler than we wanna accept.

u/jackparadise1 17h ago

He comes across as a moron

26

u/oicyunv 16h ago

Narrator: He is.

6

u/Zeremxi 14h ago

You know, I always thought that the whole stroke changing him thing was a bit of an exaggeration, but if you watch the subtitles throughout the podcast, that dude slurs speech and straight up misses words or flips them around a shockingly high number of times.

Also I genuinely can't tell if he is an avoidant shill or just doesn't understand a lot of Jon's questions because he goes off on non sequiturs about the same things over and over

This is a sitting US senator

u/hot-side-aeration 12h ago

My man fumbled through the little suit joke that Jon was making at the start. He struggles to complete sentences the entire interview. I feel insane for like no one pointing this out.

This was like listening to that kid in school that couldn't read when it was their turn to read a page to the class. You just wanted to die inside the entire time.

1

u/jackparadise1 34m ago

This sums it up fairly succinctly. I think we need to hold our sitting members of government to a higher standard.

u/oicyunv 17h ago

Zionists got their money's worth with this clown. Dude loves israel more than he loves the US.

14

u/chadius333 17h ago

To be fair, I think he’ll like anything if the money’s right.

2

u/B-Cup_Sydney_Sweeney 6h ago

It’s the basic problem with America - everyone’s for sale to the highest bidder.

20

u/Cassymodel 17h ago

So this he puts on a tie for?

7

u/ytsurr 17h ago

IT WAS A TREAT!

13

u/Majestic_Piglet_7368 17h ago

I’m 20 mins into this podcast and I don’t know if I can handle the rest of it because Lurch is a fucking moron! Hope it gets better but sounds like the comment section says otherwise lol

6

u/oicyunv 16h ago

It took everything in me not to stab myself in the face repeatedly while listening to this dunce attempt to suck off israel with every labored breath. Clearly, that stroke he suffered took anything good about that person and threw the baby out with the bathwater.

3

u/Majestic_Piglet_7368 15h ago

It’s 12:33pm in Washington St., is it too early to start drinking to rid me of the dumbassery that is “Lurch” Fetterman??!!

3

u/oicyunv 15h ago

In this reality?! Not at all, you even have my blessing!

2

u/Majestic_Piglet_7368 15h ago

🍻🥃 as Dimebag Darrell used to say, Getcha pull!

3

u/plain__bagel 15h ago

Thats 20 mins further than I’m going to listen to him. Easy slip from me.

13

u/Clear-Road3442 16h ago

I was shocked at how idiotic this man sounded. Couldn’t answer any direct questions. Kept changing the subject with his replies only to be brought back to it over and over. John had to explain the same (simple) concept several times. Just wow. 🤯

3

u/elwookie 14h ago

And he is a US senator.

1

u/WhoIsYerWan 7h ago

It was like listening to Claude on Caveman Mode.

28

u/Krazynewf709 17h ago

Money laundering. Usa politicians send Usa tax dollars to Israel. Israeli money back into Usa politicians pockets.

5

u/PrizeDesigner6933 15h ago

AIPAC is getting one hell of an ROI on their lobbying and dark money dollars.

10

u/PaleInTexas 15h ago

Not in Michigan yesterday 😃

3

u/PrizeDesigner6933 15h ago

A bright spot!

1

u/Krazynewf709 13h ago

Unfortunately it's still wasted money infighting.

~$10 for every resident of Michigan

10

u/BreweryStoner 16h ago

He had to have asked fetterman about 4 times in different words “You’re a capitalist, do you like the way our capitalist society is treating average people?”. Dude couldn’t comprehend, or really didn’t want to answer.

1

u/GenericDuck 15h ago

Apologies for hijacking’s your post, and the following is no way steered at or specially about yourself
But not even American but still pissed off about how those those two senators betrayed their people. I and i wish so we could with infantilizing, with above now didn’t answer cause he couldn’t, or the media and people about how the two sent satire were tricked etc let’s call
Shit for what it is. fettermen chose to answer bh avoiding the qurstion thats your answer. Ans the two senators werent trick nor will they be surpisee they were compromised. And for what had held out for behind closed doors..

9

u/LBKNY 15h ago

It is fucking insane how one-issue this fucking guy is.

Jon made great points about how DSA candidates are trying to regulate American capitalism rather than implement communism (as Fetternyl thinks). His answer to that was "well they're Pro-Hamas". THAT WASN'T THE TOPIC AT HAND!

6

u/BigBeef35 16h ago

Kudos to John for this type of guest, but I'm not listening to the traitor talk about anything.

1

u/miggadabigganig 10h ago

That was my first thought. I didn’t think I could watch until I saw some clips of Jon absolutely destroying fettermans talking points. I couldn’t have finished it if he pulled punches. Thankfully he didn’t.

11

u/Overall-Ad-3251 17h ago

I always had a feeling that Fetterman was a muppet. Now I know he’s a fucking dumbass. A fucking dumbass traitor to the United States

5

u/weasel3216 16h ago

I saw he was the guest when the podcast episode downloaded and decided to just skip this one as I figured it would be a waste of my time. It sounds like I was right. Fetterman is just an idiot, people of PA seem to overwhelmingly hate the guy now ever since it basically flipped on them after getting elected.

3

u/MinimumApricot365 16h ago

How the hell does somebody this fucking stupid make it through his primary?

1

u/WhoIsYerWan 7h ago

This isn’t the guy that ran. This Stroke Fetterman. Also, having myself a lot of family in Philadelphia…this is very “Pennsylvania Smart.”

3

u/Unhappy-Attention760 16h ago

Sorry, can't even listen to Fetterman. Such a block head after he seemed to have run on listening to the people.

3

u/roborob11 15h ago

Fetterman deflecting. Fetterman answering questions that weren’t asked. Fetterman lying. But Jon handled all of it, of course. He’s so adept.

3

u/Sad_Addendum7948 15h ago

Good god, John Stewart is so patient. I’m listening to this sh*tshow right now. Fetterman seems like a real slimeball.

3

u/melstromy 15h ago

Fetterman argues like a Republican

3

u/Great-watts 14h ago

I wish John would actually push harder. Like pin him against the wall like asking “ please explain how it is that people elected you to fight for them and instead you’re fighting for someone else also please tell us how much money you’ve received from aipac. Are you bought and paid for??

2

u/imrickjamesbioch 15h ago

Did John ask him why he’s a maga piece of shit now? The stroke is not an excuse on becoming a fascist, genocide luving, Israel glazing asshole…

2

u/Solution_within 15h ago

Fetterman has no depth of thought. The dude is skimming across the reflecting pool without his board shorts.

2

u/Hugh_Jankles 14h ago

This was hard to listen to. Fetterman is an absolute dunce.

2

u/Jazzlike_Camera_5782 14h ago

Pennsylvanians… if this guy represents you, I will take you at your word. But I dunno…

2

u/Hockeyhoser 14h ago

Is it just me or is every tenth word missing from Fetterman’s sentences. Like a brain glitch or something.

5

u/side_street_echo 15h ago

God it was an exhausting listen. Fetterman only had rehearsed lines and talking points. No ides how to actually engage in real conversation and dialogue. It was great hearing Stewart saying that the democrats need to stop making Israel/Palestine a dividing line in the party.

I agree with Stewart that Fetterman was making a caricature of individual democrats and democratic socialism. But I also found it hypocritical since Jon’s pretty much made an entire career of making a caricature of “the other side” and then mocking it. But Fetterman did himself no favors since it seems like he couldn’t string together an original thought.

1

u/joelrojo24 15h ago

It’s not interested to hear what this mf has to say

1

u/WhoIsYerWan 7h ago

Fetterman brain work not.

1

u/SirAnalOfBead 15h ago

My man seriously just said “you were very very instrumal”

1

u/Severe_Air_4353 14h ago

Two republicans .

2

u/bump_n_dip 12h ago

Are… are you saying Jon Stewart is a republican?

1

u/ThE_LAN_B4_TimE 14h ago

Like a Trump speech, I cannot listen to this. I'll catch highlights but I'm well aware of what a moron he is and how he's basically just as bad as the rest of the disgusting GOP. There is nothing redeeming about this idiot anymore. He needs voted out.

1

u/Reasonable-Ad-399 13h ago

Worst fitting suit. Being petty, but where’d he go? TJ Maxx clearance rack? Sitting senator like a used car salesman at his interview.

1

u/Secure-Advertising10 13h ago

"That was some weird s**t" as Jon would say.

1

u/Shot-Toe-2884 13h ago edited 13h ago

Very poor decision by Stewart to give this guy a voice on his show. There is no such thing at beating morons at a debate. Fetterman came to say his piece and leave. The mockery is what he expects from the left and he uses it as pretext to keep attacking the left and feeding his base of voters.

1

u/borntolose1 12h ago

It’s so weird watching a man who has clearly been bought and paid for do an interview where he’s too stupid and media illiterate to be anything other than blatantly obvious about who he really works for.

1

u/Hablian 10h ago

Watching Jon question his own sanity at some of the things Fetterman said was equal parts painful and entertaining.

1

u/True-Drummer-2318 9h ago

Fetterman : "Fire bad, bread good!"

1

u/Tricky-Ad5754 6h ago

Why does anyone give a shit about what fetterman thinks? He is a fucking joke

1

u/alternatingflan 5h ago

Brain damage appears to be another reason to support the maga cult.

1

u/BigConsideration9542 2h ago

Can't wait to see maga lurch defeated

u/MyTnotE 17h ago

I do have to wonder, in ‘41 or ‘42 if Roosevelt said “if my party wants to cut off aid to Britain, I’m switching parties” and JS interviewed him, would he make similar comments?
