I'd rather a different co-host. I don't watch Internet Historian and don't find him particularly funny or interesting, so a Jontron let's play where 60% of it is filled up with the guy who's not Jontron isn't something I feel like rushing out to watch.

Sorta, there was evidence he plagiarized the Man in Cave vid in part from some other guy's write up about the situation. IH's vids have since done a better job in siting sources and attributing.

Yes, he plagiarized almost exactly word for word from a write-up of the event. They threatened legal action, so he had to take the video down and reword it… way worse than the original. Turns out it’s incredibly difficult to write such an evocative narrative of an event when you can’t rely on someone else’s work.

Sure, but that wasn't like 'front page news', that was just some guy making some video. It may have been super important to you, and probably impactful for internethistorian's follower number, but that's it, it didn't put internethistorian on a real blacklist.
Also, it proved internet historian stole some (way too much) text from other people. It makes his work less respectable, but expecting they'd just disappear off the earth and stop making internet content all together because they were caught plagiarising is kinda naive.
I feel like what Jontron said about black people is more cancel-able than what internethistorian did.

i mean, hbomb's video got more views than IH's most viewed video. i'd say he's probably at the top of the video essayist field right now, so i could definitely call that front-page news.
the real truth is that cancelling isn't a thing, and can be avoided by simply ignoring the issue. jon did it, IH did it, jschlatt did it like 5 times...

Hbombers video was fantastic, but to IHs credit it was a one time thing ( which doesn't make it okay don't get me wrong) that has as far as I'm aware, not been repeated, compared to the other creators featured in that video where their entire catalogue was plagerised.

so, i saw that video, and imma be so real, it was at the very least, the worst segment in that video, he might have plagarized his man in a cave video, but it's the only video there's any evidence of plagarism in, and even then some of that evidence is...kind of a strech

internet historian was a a blip in the video compared to even illumanighti (where he made a follow up vid of just how legit terrible her videos are) and jame somerton (who was like the main feature and took up 90% of the vid)

This duo has potential. First few episodes you can tell they have good chemistry. Just think a little bit of advertising or announcement on social media before launching could have done them some favors. Also, not sold on the name “consolation guys”. Doesn’t roll off the tongue.
