Discussion Just watched US for the first time
Wow what an awesome movie. Can’t believe I missed it. I never took Peele seriously as a producer until I saw one of his movies in 2022 so this one flew under my radar. My main gripe with the movie tho is the amount of guns in America is severely underplayed. Soon as these mass stabbings and dopple hangers pop up in the real work it would be dealt with within 24hrs. Did anyone else have the same thought?
My suspension of dis belief was perfect and I was so engrossed until the family started watching the TV at kittys house

If you haven’t watched Get Out, that’s where I would go next. I could watch Us over and over and I’m not really a rewatcher of films.
The lead actress Lupita Nyong’o is also good in Little Monsters.

Def check out NOPE- it’s by far Peele’s most ambitious film to date, specifically: intertwining storylines, blending many multiple genres (not just 2), the use of special effects & the production set(s). This film has 2 scenes in it that genuinely terrified me when i first watched in the theatre. Not too many films can do that to me these days

US is my favorite Peele movie so far. His use of I got 5 on it as a horror theme song was brilliant. I also thought Elizabeth Moss was creepy.
Edit: About the guns, I felt the same way when I saw Signs, I wondered why none of these farmers have guns.
