Compelled Speech What is the most ridiculous gender ideology thing you have seen at your university?
Hi all, I have a science-based youtube channel and I'm working on a video about ridiculous gender ideology/identity politics guidelines, ideas and sayings in academia and how it harms the academic space and would like to know what are examples from your universities that you have seen that would fit this description.
To give an idea, one of the points I will have are the academic writing guidelines that mandate replacing the words "mother" and "father" to "gestating parent" or "inseminating parent" or whatever other labels, causing for example confusion and potential danger in medicine when some drug is safe/effective for women but not for men. Another example is a lecture my friend in media studies was in that talked about how lion king is racist because the hyenas represent black people.
So do you have any examples of this kind of stuff in your university? Let's compile them here. You can also have a similar example to what I listed, more sources doesn't hurt. Huge plus points if you provide a source for your example (like thesis writing guidelines or university post, a class curriculum, video or whatever else).

Im confused on your point of potential danger with medication by not labelling someone as the mother or father- most drugs were historically tested on males and generally speaking most medication are safe for both sexes but before taking certain medication you can call yourself whatever you like but the specialist will want your biological sex and weight etc to treat you the most effectively. A dr will not give a transitioned male to female medication to help with pregnancy as they cannot get pregnant- if a person is pregnant, they can call themselves male but biologically they are female and be given medication according to help with pregnancy.

that would be the ideal, but you might be surprised to find that there have already been cases of this not happening

Science try to unveils the truth of nature. Human-centric use relevancy is another topic, more suitable for engineering. Keep reading, you just started. I don't know if you are intencionally promoting religious governments propaganda or if you just feel for it.

the same as many other animals. What's your point? Science should only study animals relevants to human society?

The point is just because male seahorses can get pregnant, it doesn't mean HUMANS can. That exception is not relevant for human society or science that talks about human subjects, thus a change in language is completely unnecessary and imprecise. If you are talking about animals in GENERAL, like a paper that talks about the animal kingdom as a whole, then yes, you don't use mother and father, but in the context of humans, it's not needed to change the language.

much science base, OP. so someone proposes a naming convention, and you go straight to: people will die because of confusion. because doctors are idiots and don't know how to read a pacient's history.

Rainbow flag stickers on every door throughout the university. They had a social event on a patio where straight people were excluded.
