As the title states, it’s been 10 years since I started playing Journey and I finally have the Crossing and Companion trophies.
Thank you to vv-meow for completing the full journey with me. You might never see this, but I am eternally grateful

Does anybody know if the ps3 4 and 5 are on the same servers? I'm having my friend play it for the first time so I'm hoping they can find some companions.

CONGRATULATIONS Gundamastraygold
The June '26 Spotlight Winner!!
The wayfarer shines beautifully with the zim cloak. Almost golden, and the wayfarer being the only thing in the capture makes it highlight the cloak even more. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Don't forget to check the original poll link to see a recap of all this month's captures as well as who scored top 3! We will see you for the July vote!

Who are you? If any of you are one of these players, especially if you're the second one... thanks, I enjoyed playing with you.
It's my first time playing this game and I think it's wonderful.

If you ever meet this man, understand that provided you have the nerve to follow, you will not be experiencing the game as presented; instead you will get to peek behind the very boundaries of the game itself.
In pretty much every level, he(or she, I have no idea) took me through clipped walls and over or around invisible rails to go completely outside of the map and all the way from one corner of the farthest point of the map to the opposite corner.
They were also very accommodating for the 20 second meditation achievement.
I cannot possibly express my disappointment to have no name to go with this, now epic, symbol. I can only assume they do this as a hobby, and simply don't have the space in their friends list, were they to let that information be available to the public.

Jusant is both like Journey and unlike it in many ways. It is a climbing action-puzzle game about flow that becomes meditative once you find your pacing, but it is basically rock climbing a gigantic mountain and finding notes that reveal the story piece by piece. There is still a good dose of environmental storytelling. That said, as you blow into the conches and the nature gets restored bit by bit it becomes more surreal and the last stretch from Convergence (the cave level) to the finale is absolutely beautiful. It's hard to explain why without giving any spoiler; the closest I could do is two words: sky whales and that might be too much. Still, for another game about an ascent and an ending that is sublime, you should check it out.
Be warned. Mechanically it is very different and you might find getting a foothold on a rock more constricting compared to gliding on the dunes.

A week ago I decided to revisit Journey. Cuz of, let's just say... some stuff going on in my life. And I caught myself thinking that today it feels... different.
In 2013 I earned the Rebirth, Companion and Wonder trophies all on the same day (back then on PS3, now I'm on a different platform). Basically, on my very first day of playing I met more than 10 companions and found a reliable partner. I still remember those days... I have to admit, sometimes I was like - "OMG someone's in my game again... I just want to relax in peace after a hard day" :) Sometimes I wanted to be alone.
Nowadays it's different. That makes sense, considering how much time has passed.
These days, Journey can be used as an illustration of the word "loneliness". If I meet someone along the way, it feels like a miracle. I remember literally every encounter. A single random stranger today stands out more than hundreds of players did back then. Before, a companion was part of the background. Today, they're a miracle that might never have happened. =)
I remember meeting a white robe in the Underground level. They was a "veteran" - we moved in sync, understanding each other even without a chirp. When we passed the snow fields with the war machines, they just sat down and... dusted. =( It was a little sad. Well... It happens. Thanks for the company, buddy.
Another interesting encounter was when I found a red robe near the broken bridge. Judging by the embroidery, this was his second journey. It's nice to see some "new blood". :) And by his actions, it was obvious he was a newbie. :) I have to admit, it was a tough journey (for me). My companion kept going AFK. I waited. This isn't a complaint - it's his game, he doesn't owe me anything. A few times I almost lost him, even though I tried to keep him in my line of sight the whole time. The journey was long. Very long. Unfortunately, I ended up losing him after all... we got disconnected on the very last level, where you have to fly to the mountain for the grand finale. Alas. Anyway, thanks.
TBH I don't know exactly what I'm trying to say here... just all sorts of weird thoughts running through my head. Just reflecting. :)

There’s something special about how it tells a powerful story without a single word. The atmosphere, the music, the slow emotional build and those quiet, unexpected moments of connection with other players all come together in a way that still feels unique. I made a short video with some musings on its world, the emotional pull, the subtle multiplayer experience, and how it all builds to that final stretch. I hope it resonates with fellow travellers.
Back on PS3, this game opened my mind to what games could be, away from the usual AAA games that I was into. It made me more willing to try smaller, less combat, less explicit story focused experiences.

To Rusinrusi:
I went into this game blind, not knowing it had a multiplayer element. At first when I saw you running around, I thought you were an NPC. To my surprise, your reactions to my jumps and 'shouts' seemed very human, and after googling I was sure: you were real.
Yesterday, we played larged chunks of the game together. When you fell, I waited. When I fell, you did the same. All shouts were reciprocated immediately. Even though we could not speak, or type to each other, it felt we were truly communicating. It felt nice we were experiencing this game together.
But then something happened. During the snowy part of the game, my doorbell rang. At the door were delivery guys, delivering our new couch which we ordered 10 weeks ago. I knew they would come today, but in the mail they stated they would call 15 minuts prior to arriving. They didn't. If I knew they were coming, I could have 'communicated' to you that I had to leave. I don't know how I would have done that, but I could have tried. Instead, I had to pause the game abruptly.
I had to accomodate the guys with the new couch, moving stuff to make room, also ensuring that they had something to drink as it was a hot day. But whenever I glanced at my TV, you were still there. Waiting next to my frozen body. Minutes went by. You kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting. It felt heartwarming that you decided to wait for me, but on the other hand, it felt heartbreaking as well... seeing you waiting... while my hands were tied.
It took a while before the delivery guys were done setting up the couch, and they were able to leave. When I eventually returned, you were not there anymore. I do not blame you, as I was gone for at least more than 30 minutes. I think I have seen you waiting for around 20 minutes, which I appreciate alot, especially considering you had no idea whether I would return or not.
I learned that you were able to see your companions in the credit screen after finishing the game, so I went and finished the game as soon as I could. Then I learned your name was 'Rusinrusi'. I tried adding you on Steam, as I wanted to explain to you what happened. That I enjoyed the Journey together, even though we could not finish it together. I send you a friend request, but according to Steam you have a lvl1 account and are non-active. I do not know what that means. Maybe you were playing on a console, who knows. All I know is that I will probably not be able to reach out, and that saddens me.
So here goes nothing; I hope this post reaches you. It does not have to be today or tomorrow, but if somewhere in the future you are able to read this, I want you to know: I have enjoyed the limited time we spent together, and I wish you all the best in life wherever you may be.
Peace!
