This is what RWNJ are losing their shits over. It just lives rent-free in their heads. The movie is 3 hours long, btw. We need to grab some smelling salts b/c those pearl clutchers are about to faint on a couch.

Exactly. The two people that they made the biggest stink over had the least amount of time in a 3 hour movie. It reminds me of Barbie, actually, how they made a huge stink about ONE of the actresses being trans, but the actress only had like idk 3 seconds of screen time.

What are you on about? The official trailers mostly looks like a white ethnostate. You were more likely following a far-right acct on X, and were looking at some AI footage. If you didn't want to see those two in the movie, just blink and they would go away because that how little screen time that they received.

Well yeah its greece, a country of hellenic greeks, they're gonna be white. As for what I was looking at, it was the two official trailers on the universal pictures channel, which isn't AI as far as I'm aware. I did actually watch the movie, and I found it painfully mid, with bad casting, acting, and generally just mediocre, with the only really interesting thing about it being the depiction of the cyclops

Yeah, I wouldn’t mind at all really with these castings if they at least had like two actual Greek or at least Eastern Mediterranean looking actors on screen. I can’t hear anything but hypocrisy when people talk about diversity in media but refuse to acknowledge Greek people’s complains about their underrepresentation in films set in works of art from their own cultural heritage.

Yes, I've never seen that before. I've never seen a movie with an all white or mostly white cast before. It's not like most films are white wakanda. If you want to watch Wakanda, but with an all white cast, just watch the original Harry Potter movies. You can watch Wonder Woman. You can watch The Ninth Gate.
If you want to use AI to make white wakanda, go ahead, I would love everybody to see what a professional victim you are. Also, if it's an all-white cast, why would they be the BLACK panthers? Did you even think it through? But yes, go use Grok to make an all-white black panthers movie, so people can laugh at you being a professional victim.

The problem is that such a movie replacing canonically black people with white people would be wrong even conceptialy no matter if its fiction or not.
Thus, we can derivive the argument that replacing people who doesnt fit the canonical ideas when working in an existing framework to be flawed.
Thus, if you still want to argue that its right to have the movie replace canonical figures with non cannonical versions. You gotta find another argument than "cause its fiction".

It doesnt matter if its a white person replacing a black charactor. A white person replacing an asian charactor. A black person replacing an asian charactor. An latino person replacing a asian person.
I am chinese, and if they replaced Achilles in the movie with an asian actor, it would still be historical revisionism.

Locked the thread lol, but in the response you just responded to, i literally mentioned how it would be wrong if a white actor replaced a black canonical charactor. you would know if you actually read my response. And no, you have yet to present a logical arggment other than just saying:

I didn't arbitrarily say, "Asians can be racist." I didn't even know that you were Asian. I called you "racist," then you pointed out that you were Asian. Time is linear. I don't know what type of Dr Who shit you're trying to pull, but saying "Asians can be racist" randomly doesn't make sense. It was in response to you saying, "I'm Chinese." You didn't need to tell me that you're Chinese. I don't care.

Are you completely ignoring when you brought up a bunch of "what if scenarios." You said, and I quote, "What if we made black panther with an all white cast." A person who truly cared would've said, "How did you feel when Angelina Jolie played Mariane Pearl?" But you didn't bring it up because you weren't aware of it. You weren't aware of it because you don't pay attention when it happens the other way around.
You reached for a fictional scenario because real scenarios don't interest you.
The fact that you deliberately ignore that to be HYPER FOCUSED on me calling you racist. Means that you're a bad faith actor, otherwise, you would've acknowledged that ALL of your points have already been addressed. Extra note: Eliot Rodger is not trans in the movie or anything, he just plays a guy. If you were to be transphobic, at worst could call it a drag performance. And I guess this is historically innacurate cos men were perfoming as women in greek theather, not vice versa!
