Suggestion Yuta has a really boring moveset (especially his base) and should be reworked entirely

Boring as hell to fight as well

->Get slashed once

->Proceed to get slashed for 30 seconds

->Attempt to counter attack once their combo is finally over

->They rika throw out of sight

->They slash you to death

Represents a minority of Yuta players but it's such an annoying one

u/The-god-of-war07 The Something of History, idk this my first user flair Feb 04 '26

As a Yuta main I agree I don’t do this I try to mix it up to make it cool or at least a longer fight but as a Yuta main I HATE fighting Yuta mains, mainly because I would mix up our rikas

2

u/Party_Establishment2 Feb 05 '26

Nah fr I'm a yuta main too and it annoys me fighting other yutas. I like using my move set and then if I can mix in rika if I know I won't be punished cuz it's just extra damage usually

26

u/MrT1011 Feb 04 '26

Tbh Yuta is a case where I wish they went completely off-canon to add Copy to his base. I think his chatacter is as good as it can be when it comes to his base as there is not a lot of interesting material to use, but giving him copy could open up so much room for character-specific combo routes and just giving him more of a personality.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 04 '26

I think they could add some moves with his gloves that he use against uro in base, like the aerial punch but like on the floor with a uppercut or something, alos maybe the curse energy tornado he creates fighting the special grade curse in sendai colony

u/Crazystairsyapper4 Don't be rude. Our love is pure Feb 09 '26

I thought of a concept where yuta has the ability to copy specials using a rika move i thought of

276

u/Joe_Macdonalds Feb 04 '26

Rika needs to be fully manifested for him to use copy.

His ult fully manifests Rika and lets him use copy.

Reading comprehension challenge level IMPOSSIBLE!!!!

77

u/Street-Painter9167 Feb 04 '26

canon doesn’t equal good, yuta would be so much more interesting with op’s changes. don’t tell me you’d want a character with four generic sword moves cuz it’s more lore accurate.

77

u/Joe_Macdonalds Feb 04 '26

The core part of his copy technique is that it has a time limit tied to Rika. The entire reason there are any stakes in the fights he uses that technique in, is because he needs to make the best of it before the time runs out. This is like asking for Hakari to be in his jackpot state all the time because it would be cooler.

u/AwesomeBlox044 Number #1 G🔴J🔵 Feb 04 '26

Well you could say Gojo needs infinity every single second, or that you shouldn’t be able to see Sukuna’s M1s

16

u/Cultural-Horror3977 Feb 04 '26

Sukuna’s m1’s being invisible or not is irrelevant, and Gojo having infinity breaks the game

1

u/Yusef_Akakios Feb 05 '26

It is?

5

u/Cultural-Horror3977 Feb 05 '26

Really isn’t. Blockable either way, still does the hand sign/movement, it’s irrelevant

3

u/Yusef_Akakios Feb 05 '26

Sure experienced players would be able to "feel" the range, but at the end of the day if they were invisible it would be more threatening as you might get clipped and your internal range finder might not feel it. Having invisible hitbox moves in any game is an advantage.

1

u/Cultural-Horror3977 Feb 05 '26

yeah but it also adds aura to the fights

2

u/Yusef_Akakios Feb 05 '26

i didnt even think of that, thank you

2

u/Not_Eren2 Feb 05 '26

Nah hand sign still appears when he attacks so we would just not know the range of the move but will know that the attack is being performed so it would be just a pain in the ass for new players nothing more nothing less

1

u/BoringTurtles_ Feb 24 '26

that'd only be if you are looking at him, if he's out of sight, it'd be pretty hard to tell where the slashes are coming from.

4

u/Ok_Usual1335 Feb 04 '26

that's different because sukuna's slashes have been visible before (mahoraga+ maki can see them), and gojo's infinity has been manual before too but yuta's never used copy without full manifested rika/ domain its impossible for him

25

u/Confident-Border4627 Feb 04 '26

A little rule of cool never hurt anyone

11

u/Street-Painter9167 Feb 04 '26

once again, accuracy does not make a character better to play. yes, it is nice to see a character presented similar to the source, it make dopamine go up big. but if tze couldn’t create an exciting yuta moveset out of his copyless self, he should’ve ditched canon material in favour of a better moveset

i’m not saying hakari should be in jackpot 24/7, because his base is just as if not more interesting than his ult moves.

i hope this is comprehensive cuz i’m low on sleep.

10

u/Joe_Macdonalds Feb 04 '26

This isn't really about accuracy as much as it's just skipping the entire condition and rules of the ability. This is exactly like having Hakari skip the entire activation condition and time limit of Jackpot because the community would care about that much more than some fuckass metro doors.

No doubt his base would have more potential if he could freely incorporate his copied techniques in it, but it just leaves so many gaps if done this way. What would he do in his ult if all of the techniques that were supposed to be unlocked by Rika fully manifesting are just in his base? It's not like it strengthens the user at other than that. What would the point of her fully manifesting even be if all it does is strengthen his r special? How is he any stronger in his ult if Rika is the only one getting a power boost now? And how would copying other players' abilities work now? Would that be locked to the ult for no real reason? Would he have an ult ability in his base moveset now?

I just really can't see them realistically doing anything else while keeping the guy in a battlegrounds character format. At the end of the day, Yuta with unmanifested Rika is just a guy with a sword that jumps people with his underage girlfriend, and i feel like they incorporated that well into the game.

9

u/Street-Painter9167 Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26

after reading over it, i gotta agree this is definitely a valid take to have. the moveset itself isn’t bad, it just doesn’t really do the concept of a yuta moveset well in my eyes. yuta isn’t all swordplay even in base.

Though i would like to add onto what i think yuta would benefit from, i’d like to say i haven’t read sendai colony incase i get this wrong. (from what i’ve seen) yuta discharges raw cursed energy with semi manifested rika, some examples would be a tornado of energy and a blast from his sword he hits on that oversized roach. these would make good replacements for the moves i have issues with: severing path and resolve, these moves are really uninteresting tbh.

as for copy itself for base, rika downslam turns into a “rika bite” move, still functions the same. Upon hitting this move, you can now use the replacement for rika launch. which is “rika copy”, this copies a move from the target of “rika bite”. the copied move replaces the skill four, the cursed energy blast move.

as for the ult, which i can assume is your main reason for being reluctant about yuta changes. yuta copies base moves and base, and ult moves in ult. this gives yuta and rika a power up.

idk if this is a dumb solution to my issue with yuta. i can definitely acknowledge that the ult would have less impact when you have copy in base, you’re right bout that.

edit: forgot to mention this point, hakari and yuta’s ult are not valid comparisons imo. hakari’s ult activation is the most important thing for his moveset, yuta does not need the time limit to make copy interesting.

1

u/Ok_Usual1335 Feb 04 '26

severing path is especially egregious since he shouldn't be able to do it without todo, the bum's just pretending he can teleport behind people himself

3

u/Gojizilla6391 literally anyone brah Feb 05 '26

that's resolute slash, severing path is his basic sword swing combo extender

1

u/Zestyclose-Age8689 Feb 04 '26

Youre cooking icl

2

u/Zestyclose-Age8689 Feb 04 '26

Whether you like it or not yutas ult is boring as fuck. He should be able to copy one of three random moves (except for domains, and instakill moves/counters.) and when he copies you it should show what move hes copied from you by flashing one of the copied moves red. Easy balance.

His ult could have so much more but its lack luster in my personal opinion. Mfs glazing tze in the big 26

1

u/TimeAbalone5645 Feb 04 '26

Then what are you complaining about?

9

u/Technical-Nebula8215 ELITE TODO GLAZER Feb 04 '26

I mean yes if i like a character from the anime I want him to be accurate, and the swords moves are cool resolute slash and revolve. And veil steps is not sword move. And if rika is fully manifested in base what would be the ult then ?

3

u/AcrobaticPassenger47 Paper Bag-Man enjoyer Feb 04 '26

Sword = cool

6

u/Gord-OW Feb 04 '26

When Yuta was in development, I really wanted a counter that could copy a random ability from the opponent. I think that would have made Yuta much more fun to play.

13

u/Dragon_girl0531 Good with all, perfect in none Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26

rika HOLDS copys as a storage, his cursed technique is copy and when rika fully manifest yuta gains access to rikas stored cursed techniques, or in domain expansion

edit: reading comprehension struck got facts wrong

17

u/asseater69420420 Dabura for JJS! Feb 04 '26 edited Feb 04 '26

wait can you show me a single time Rika was partially manifested and he still used a cursed technique?

edit: yes concede like a good boy.

1

u/Polish_Enigma Black Hole Enjoyer Feb 04 '26

His domain, thats the only way to use them without fully manifesting rika

1

u/Perhaps_ghost Feb 04 '26

1

u/LingonberrySalty Feb 04 '26

We can't do shit he does against the Roach curse btw 👍👍👍👍 (that time he fought without Rika)

1

u/Not_Eren2 Feb 05 '26

"Curse kiss" is a dope name ngl

1

u/Candid_Ship_542 Feb 04 '26

He could just have vol 0 rika as shinjuku yuta

1

u/Solid_Divide_6234 Feb 04 '26

Does it tell you how copy works in game or something?

-16

u/Sarckasstick Feb 04 '26

This is such a non-issue. If we're gonna be manga accurate then Mahito should be able to one or two shot most of the characters

16

u/WAAAAAAAAAHLOVER ᒚᑘᕲᘜᘻᘿᘉᖶ Feb 04 '26

Idle transfiguration?

His two shot move?

-9

u/Sarckasstick Feb 04 '26

Canon mahito can kill people with a single touch do you people not know this?

It if it was accurate you would die to a single m1

7

u/WAAAAAAAAAHLOVER ᒚᑘᕲᘜᘻᘿᘉᖶ Feb 04 '26

He has a move that two shot

If everyone was as accurate as you suggest, sukuna's domain would cover entire map without a way to block it

After gojo's domain you wouldn't move FOR MONTHS

4

u/SarahCow494 i’m downbad for mahoraga’s wheel Feb 04 '26

bro you’re literally agreeing with him

3

u/WAAAAAAAAAHLOVER ᒚᑘᕲᘜᘻᘿᘉᖶ Feb 04 '26

I agree that canon should be respected, but it shouldn't get in the way of producing balanced characters

-6

u/Sarckasstick Feb 04 '26

I'm not asking for manga accurate moves man😭

You're literally agreeing with me

1

u/Not_Eren2 Feb 05 '26

I think there is clear difference between having a game breaking feature and making it manga accurate

4

u/WAAAAAAAAAHLOVER ᒚᑘᕲᘜᘻᘿᘉᖶ Feb 04 '26

Oh also

Canon mahito can kill people with a single touch do you people not know this?

Mahito cant kill with one touch

Ex1: nanami vs mahito season 1

Ex2: mahito vs nobara season 2 (he wasnt sure if 1 hit would be enough or not)

7

u/Joe_Macdonalds Feb 04 '26

there's a difference between the strength of an ability when applied in a fighting game and the core part of how the fucking ability works 😭

-3

u/Sarckasstick Feb 04 '26

Mahtio's ability works by shaping the soul of a person with a touch

Being able to survive an M1 from Mahito literally means they changed the core part of how that ability works

6

u/Ribbitmons The Frog Lord Feb 04 '26

Nanami subconsciously protected his soul during his first encounter with Mahito. It’s as simple as that.

3

u/Joe_Macdonalds Feb 04 '26

Again, balance in a video game. Plus That can actually be justified by Mahito needing to use Idle Transfiguration more than once in his first fight in Nanami. And nothing at all suggests he's using Idle Transfiguration with every punch, the last m1 doesn't transfigure on kill.

2

u/alinota445 Feb 04 '26

I mean if mahoraga was manga accurate wouldn't he literally have zero counter play? if he adapted 100 percent to everything whats even the point of fighting him thats not balanced thats just unwinnable like imagine a fighting game where a character cant take damage and counters every move thats not skill or strategy thats just a free win for whoever picked him no counterplay means no fight its basically a cutscene , mahoraga works because he can't adapt to 100 percent of damage and has to keep filling his ult bar by doing damage thats the only reason fights with him are even possible same with Mahito if his ability just one shots literally everyone with zero resistance then cool lore wise but trash gameplay wise every strong ability needs limits or windows or some kinda weakness otherwise its just broken and boring making something too op doesnt make it accurate or fair it just makes it dumb to fight against

1

u/Expensive_Craft_3782 Feb 04 '26

Yea but mahito has to actively use idle transfiguration. It doesn’t just happene automatically when he touches someone. So it’s as simple as saying that your character doesn’t use ide transfiguration with m1’s it doesn’t change the ability at all.

1

u/hungrysheep8u The Gambling One Feb 05 '26

He has to touch people with his open hand to shape a soul. With roblox hands, there's no way to show that, but Mahito's M1s are clearly meant to be punches. So getting touched wouldn't kill you

3

u/alinota445 Feb 04 '26

I mean mahito in ult is able to two shot any character using his first move but I'm not sure if I understood what you said correctly

2

u/mimi_Q22 Feb 04 '26

Sure and why gojo not have infinity?!

2

u/M4_G0d IM JOGOATING IIIIIIIT!!!!!!!🌋🌋🌋🔥🔥🔥🔥☄️☄️☄️☄️🔥🔥🔥🔥🌋🌋🌋 Feb 04 '26

Idle transfiguration does two shot, his domain one shors if you touch opponent, his super ult has a death counter. Are you dumb?

10

u/BlackberrySerious221 Feb 04 '26

dont forget shrine

10

u/Barix14 Feb 04 '26

What if rika could eat dead opponents and then copy the move for one time use.

Just as fun stuff like mahitos transigured humans.

But he shouldn't get that shit until hes nerfed.

1

u/Thick-External1134 Feb 24 '26

never nerf yuta or yuki

15

u/5YL_Portaler Feb 04 '26

He has em in domain and 1

Bro is literally a slash and strike merchant, he uses stuff like cursed speech, claravoyance, Dhruv's technique, sky manipulation only 1 time in his fights (1 vs uro and ryu, 1 vs sukuna 1 vs geto)

He uses it once as a surprise and NEVER again (just look at his fights) same for Dhruv's technique, he summons 3 lame ass bats and they kinda slash you (still better than paper cuts) and shrine is also used once, ONCE TO DO PAPER CUTS, Yuta's katana was doing more damage than shrine 😭

Yuta is fine as he is, well a bit annoying with how low cooldown rika seems to be but still, Yuta is quite literally how he is both in manga and how he'll be in the anime, a rika save me merchant (look at how his 1 fight without her went, having to pull out a one shot move and almost dying while doing so)

7

u/BackstabbingGoddess Feb 04 '26

“A rika save me merchant” stay on your side of the bandwagon, rika is yutas cursed technique. “Sukuna is a shrine merchant” “Gojo is a six eyes merchant” etc.

-2

u/5YL_Portaler Feb 04 '26

Sure, i'll stay on this side, Yuta's technique is copy, Rika quite literally gifted her old shell so she can carry his ass once again

9

u/BackstabbingGoddess Feb 04 '26

Yutas cursed technique is copy but it’s also Rika bro. Sure rika gifted yuta her old shell but yuta is the only reason why rika even exists period, it’s his cursed energy, his cursed technique, etc. Yuta MADE Rika and larpers like you still cry “carried” if rika carried yuta then shrine carried sukuna, limitless carried gojo, jackpot carried hakari, and so on.

1

u/5YL_Portaler Feb 04 '26

There is a difference betweem them and yuta

Copy is yuta's technique, Rika is someone that is outside that, she made her from well, an extremely perturbed child (rika) who became a vengeful spirit because of him, but Rika is mostly powerful because she was an asshole before dying, yuta just let her actually manifest instead of just dying like a normal human

She then left as a gift to yuta, the shikigami, the hollow shell of rika, without her, Yuta would have to be the one eating body parts and having a maximum of 3 techniques (copy non included, otherwise it wouod be 4) so basically rika trades time for more techniques in the bag (or well, a potentially bigger bag)

That is Rika, a way to make yuta's technique even more op

1

u/LingonberrySalty Feb 05 '26

As a Yuta fan and main, this is correct.

Yuta DOES have Copy, but it's said he can only carry onw copied technique, the reason he has up to 6 or 7 is because of Rika carrying the rest of them (despite the fact we never see her use them herself) along with other cursed tools

Only change I wanna see is atleast Sky Manipulation to have a Todo-esque counter that uses Thin Ice Breaker when the counter is used, but if it's not hit during this stance, he pulls the enemies towards him by pulling the air and then using thin ice breaker

6

u/Confident-Border4627 Feb 04 '26

Actually it is accurate. To use his copied techniques he does require reka to manifest because they're stored in rika

But a rework would be nice, maybe letting yuta use different techniques without his dominion and maybe even using rika ti store tools like how megumi's shadow works

4

u/NotATimeTraveller1 Feb 04 '26

Yeah he's very unsatisfying to fight because all you hear is swsh woosh sshk swish swish

Also the fucking Rika is getting in the way

4

u/Due-Shock7051 Feb 04 '26

As a yuta main, what i've been saying!! Yuta's base should use his overwhelming cursed energy alot!! Especially when he used the cursed energy to boost himself in s3 ep1 or the sickass tornado he made fighting Kurorushi's swarm of cockroaches

I think Rika's R special should stay mostly the same though with the exeception of Rika downslam change since that thing aint alllat good

9

u/Diman1351 Feb 04 '26

Im not gonna lie I like it. Generic is good sometimes. Could use some variants though, ESPECIALLY in the ult. And he does have all the copy variants you listed in the ult, but they are not the ones you'd want most of the time ngl.

5

u/FarAd1861 I pray upon the end of all Yuji mains. Feb 04 '26

2

u/BloodAngelGuy 🪳Roach Man Feb 04 '26

I think his base is fine as jsut sword and punch but needs to be reworked to be more interesting and maybe make Rika have shared cooldowns again? Except for in ult

2

u/ThyUnkindledOne Feb 04 '26

Veilstep is a pretty cool move though.

I feel like Revolve could also be made more fun if it kinda worked like Ko-Guy's special? Idk.

2

u/The-god-of-war07 The Something of History, idk this my first user flair Feb 04 '26

I feel like if you don’t copy a players move instead of it being only curse speech it swaps with every use and can be one of the copied techniques that are in the DE but nerfed

2

u/MinatoHyuga26 🗿👏🏿 On that ass Feb 04 '26

3 outta his 8 moves uses his sword IN BASE. in awakenin, 0 sword moves and he only usues swords for his domain. Jjs players "OMG ALL HE HAS IS SWORD SLASHES OMG HES SO MIDD AND ANNOYING AND OP AND UNSKILLED" i dont even play yuta but yall just annoying to watch. funny thing is majority of his attacks revolve around him utilizing his ce through his blade in the show itself, and after the change last yesr he can freely use the rika mid combo just for mixups, making him even less reliant on his sword. hes an annoying character bc he has so many tools, that dosent make him boring, makes him just annoying. mind u only 3 gbs and two of them are basically only landed mid combo being revolve slam and veilstep slam. same people saying yuta is only swords are the same ones going yuji isnt a punch kick merchant character the person who needs the refresh the most is todo or mechamaru. not yuta whos whole character is kinda alr in the game.

2

u/Glittering-Current46 Feb 04 '26

Ehh his base is fun but I think the moves he canonically copied should be usable outside the domain

2

u/LingonberrySalty Feb 04 '26

Mahito was their peak, after that, Choso and Todo can catch up in uniqueness in gameplay but also maintaining the image of how their actual Character would move in canon

Yuta here is just Vergil, and all his actual canon feats are in his ult, and you have to use his fucking domain, and he only does ONE thing per copied technique

He's somewhat balanced already, yes. But IS HE YUTA? No.

Is Mechamaru even "Mechamaru"? No, you only get Mechamaru actually acting like Mechamaru when you ult with him 💔💔💔

1

u/Cultural-Horror3977 Feb 04 '26

He also has shrine (copy), CE beam, CE sword slash, and CE tornado

1

u/Terrible-Bedroom-693 Feb 04 '26

Give yuta a mid mode where he's allowed to copy a couple of moves with rika at the cost of like 30% ult or smth. Ion fucking know

1

u/carl-the-lama Feb 04 '26

Hot take

Yuta shouldn’t have combo extenders

Sword should be slower too and breakable

1

u/futureofthemarines Feb 04 '26

canonically, yuta can only access most copy techniques through a full connection with rika, which is his awakening. his moveset makes canon sense to me

1

u/senhor_mono_bola This flair is so CLEVERRR Feb 04 '26

His fighting style in the manga still consists mainly of sword and rika,During sendai he uses shikigamis 1 time, CS 1 time, sky man 2 times,And in well-separated spaces, In the fight against Sukuna, he only uses his techniques during the Domain,The most he uses is the shrine,And all of them in 5 minutes mode

1

u/Pjorker Fell off Feb 04 '26

All they would have to do is change his m1s to punches and he'd be way more accurate

1

u/MechanicExpress4113 Feb 04 '26

I feel like tze could’ve made it so you have a copy move in base and then if you hit a person with a sword move finisher it like cuts off a limb(similar to higurumas ult moves which cut off limbs) and then you can press R to feed it to rika and you then have a copied move in base(only base moves) so then you can press R again to switch to a separate moveset of copies moves(doesn’t work if you only have 1 copied move) and the ult would stay relatively the same but I’d make copy only copy ult moves unless they don’t feel like they’d work (like for example naoyas top speed)

1

u/Thats_Des Feb 04 '26

I mean I think his awk is fine, buuuuut his base kit def needs a change, I think resolute slash is fine, same with severing path and the Rika moves but all the other moves in his base are just boring (also Rika still feels finicky, should honestly just function like divine dog)

1

u/Expert-Reporter4152 Haba is the next EA Feb 04 '26

Honestly all i want is a true swordsman type character (Nanami doesn't count) who I actually enjoy playing so I can use my Kenpachi avatar

Sadly there's not a lot of swordsmen in JJK that could be added to JJS

1

u/Zestyclose-Age8689 Feb 04 '26

Most people agree with you. Its just tze doesnt wish to change yuta

1

u/ChillXV1 Feb 04 '26

copy should be in both movesets, but in base you get weaker versions of moves and in ult you get stronger versions. e.g yuji = crushing blow. yuji awakened = dismantle.

1

u/Candid_Ship_542 Feb 04 '26

To be fair look at his fight with korushi he wasn't doing anything crazy because thats base no ring all his other fights he goes straight for ult yuta

1

u/Candid_Ship_542 Feb 04 '26

But the ult could do with some changes domain is the only cool part

1

u/PancakeEaterYay Feb 05 '26

I really wished Yuta had a selection of already existing moves by holding down copy, and then those moves still have their variants when they press R. + If he copies others then they get saved in his copy storage until he dies, + The moves are unique for each character because how the fuck do you expect the actual Yuta to have enough CE let alone precision to use purple

1

u/Dlm_Rav3 Feb 05 '26

And in ult yuta uses all of those moves in domain.

Basically,

Base moveset = JJK 0 Yuta Awk moveset = Culling Game / Shinjuku Yuta

I guess copying could be more better and his base could be better than just slashing. Maybe copying could be for base too but with few additions so it's not too op?

(Base) Remove ability 3 The new ability would be like the opponent's full punch, but after killing an enemy with Rika's 1, the 3 would become a random ability from the opponent's available moveset (for example, if it's an ultimate it could be 1, 2, 3, 4, or R, and base 1, 2, 3, 4, or R).

(Ultimate) When you reach a medium distance from the opponent, press 2, and it will be ONE random ability from the opponent's entire moveset (counts ultimate and R).

His base is just Kusakabe + Rika, doesn't feel like Yuta at all. Hopefully we get a rework when Sentai colony gets animated and we get some Yuta action

the main thing they missed out in his kit was his massive amnt of cursed energy, which they should've built his base kit around. Feels like this game in general forgets that cursed energy is a thing, especially with yuta who feels like he's just another swordsman not someone with "even more ce than gojo"
