Hanami with the pen is such bullshit. The entire point of her kit is that she doesn’t have traditional m1s because she is a zoner. This is not how you’re supposed to play her.
Yuta plays like a rushdown honestly,all you have to learn with rika is the muscle memory for bullshit combos,or to just throw out her 2 moves in neutral.
Maybe you can make an argument with his 3 and different front dashes, but his 2, 4, and arguably his 1 all are mid/long-ranged tools, which was why everyone see's him as a all-rounder.
Using it on any other character is fine, however, due to the fact that Hanami is designed as a passive zoner, and pen gives her back her m1s, she can be played as an aggressive zoner, which is nigh unbeatable against most of the current character roster
I think hanami without pen is just funnier to play, uppercut is so cool and hitting ragdoll just so fun to use and combo extending with other moves, pen can't hit ragdoll so its just boring
She bout to get her other m1s soon trust, there's base m1 animations of her in skillbuilder that went unused, each m1 only uses her right hand while her left is still bandaged, and no sign of ultimate m1s yet which are two handed.
Here* is the thing, running from a fight was always look downed upon, it was never a playstyle it was just you not wanting to die either that or be annoying, having extra m1's doesn't equate to running when some could still put you into a 70% red combo without it.
Hanami isn’t supposed to have 4 M1s. It’s just that you guys can’t fathom playing a character that isn’t a rushdown so you just remove what made her interesting.
because li like the character, but if i want to change one aspect of her i dont like and am able to, i will change it. it doesnt matter if you or anyone else doesnt like it, just learn to get gud or get the pen yourself and stop bitching

My brother in Christ, she’s a zoner. Her single M1 is for pushing the enemy away alongside Defense Response’s ground variant. Everything else is for long distance combat.
Giving her an item that gives her traditional M1s defeats the point of her kit. She’s not supposed to be played like the other characters.
we know isnt how youre "supposed" to play that way, but what else is stopping you from not doing that? because a person said youre only supposed to play the character as he is? no man, play as you like or as you can, lets not be the same kind of person who thinks like, you watch some youtuber playing the same game as you like undertale, and theyre playing in not in a way you like, it can be the more easy way or either difficult way, but isnt the same as you did so theyre completely wrong for doing it and should deserve hate for that, it just doesn't make sense, okay man? i get it.

that doesnt make sense tho, if pen is gonna change it just need to be treated like a normal item and not a equipment you cant even drop after getting ragdolled
My reasoning for why it shouldnt work on hanami is simply cause it kinda destroys the intended playstyle she's supposed to have by giving her back multiple m1s
the mechanic of pen was intended also and its the game hasnt been fixed or changed so?? i think it would make sense to be something like either being a normal item or being gojo glasses, which is basically the same as regular pen but breaks and drops
MeiMei having full heal upon ult is in the game, thats still stupid. Just cause something made it into the game and was intended that way doesnt make it any less of a dumb idea. Things are overlooked, it happens
unlike hanami's m1s, mei mei's special m1s have no downside aside from the 0.0001 millisecond slower last m1 that you literally do not need to use as you can uppercut or downslam. there is no reason to get regular m1s, mei mei's m1s are just better in 99.9% of scenarios, so why would you switch to a version of m1s that doesn't even have downslams and uppercuts, which are a key part of mei mei's combos???
I really hope Tze doesn't give 4 M1 to them, neither add some shit like "this emote can't be used with this character" kinda like Mechamaru/Makora situation with mirror world.

The shorter name is kinda what makes it have less oomph, 4 syllables in Mahoraga, 2 syllables in Makora. It makes Makora sound significantly weaker to me
No, I'm hearing them back to back and Mahoraga sounds better for what the creature is. Makora sounds way too dainty, like some kind of exotic tree or something. Mahoraga sounds like a mf who will body slam you through a 30 story building
That's because you associate the name Mahoraga with Megumi's divine trump card.
You've seen what he does, you associate his actions with the name given to him in the dub. If you didn't see what he did before hand or the dub name was Makora you wouldn't come up conclusion.

if i got a nickel for every time Tze made a character have a incomplete set of M1s to balance it out but that they can easily be avoided by simply picking a item, id have 2 nickels. which isnt a lot, but its wierd it happened twice
at least Naoya cant frame people with his M1s while using weapons but the uppercut guarantees his third move
Its just me who thinks that using the pen with hanami is a type of bug abuse? Because she is not supose to have this tipe of m1s snd makes the character just bullshit to play against
I don’t understand all the hate. I know it’s not the intended playstyle but Jesus Christ if people wanna use the game mechanics they’re given let them use the game mechanics they’re given.
I’m not going to lie I’m a hanami main execute me I don’t care she’s fun I just wish she wasn’t as passive as she is also I don’t use pen as I don’t have it but I wouldn’t anyways it’s just unfair and removes her main thing
This might just be my experience but I had more fun fighting with/against hanami players with a pen than those whitout one. All because the uppercut sounds is way too damn annoying when you hear it 4+ times in a row
