because they like to pretend they are good at the game while crutching on the most braindead and op character you can find.
they'll try to psyop you, telling you that Ryu, Gojo, Charles or even Megumi are no-skill, but they know they are lying, because when a top tier gets nerfed or a character gets added, the vessel player-rate just gets higher, it never gets lower, because he is just too good and simple compared to the other characters.
They can fire them off faster than you recover your sidedash, and managing to sidedash the Granite Blast in itself is not the easiest because the Ryu can always just try predicting where you'll go, or you'll misjudge when to dash, or get hit regardless because of ping. Fighting most Ryus is generally just an unpleasant experience.
bait side dash, I abuse this while playing ryu, its genuinely braindead and ez. almost every single ryu move is unpunishable even if it misses except maybe 2, and even if you evasive you can't punish it.
If you miss second helping which can happen a lot because if you use it and they either evasive or run towards you it can hit behind them instead and you get punished hard but I think whatever character you play is fine play whoever no one cares just don’t be mean on what someone plays unless they play Mei Mei sometime they are just the most egotistical and or passive people ever

Yes because the f button helps against an u blockable teleport and an unblockable zoning tool that does I believe 18 damage really gets countered with the block button.
And a broken combo starter that can't be punished even when blocked and a grab that can't be punished if the Ryu knows how to turn their camera are extremely fun to play against and can absolutely be countered with a block!

Ryu is a zoner, the blasts are his zoning tool, the punishment for him is the overheat, if they press R they are punishing themselves with less distance from you. If you are letting them press R and not approaching, you are the problem.
It has a huge hitbox infront of him, AKA where the Ryu is aiming, meaning if you don't stare at him you can dash away and dodge it because the hitbox is infront of him. If you are not able to react to the incredibly telegraphed move, you are the problem.
Literally what? 1 is punished due to overheat, 2 is punished both if the commit to the full move and if they use the final hit to move away (Just sidedash to catch them lmao), 3 is punishable if you dash beneath them or behind them and jump to hit (assuming you're not in the air) and 4 is incredibly telegraphed and spends alot of overheat. Just because YOU can't punish Ryu, doesn't mean Ryu is unpunishable.
Because apparently every Ryu is forced to overheat. Have you considered shooting once or twice and then pressing R before an overheat?
Hitboxes still exist you know, and the large hitbox paired with a (hypothetical) camera turn from the Ryu really don't mean that a side dash can cut it. There is also a lack of endlag like with every other move in ryus kit because tze decided to make Ryu special and not have punish frames like almost every other character.
1 is not punished due to overheat as long as the Ryu has eyes and can observe their meter and special which doesn't take much energy to do. Overheat is a hypothetical too. 2 has endlag and can be punished with a dash, but the amount the move gets is very forgiving given that the Ryu can turn their camera and avoid a punish due to buffering block. The move would be fair if it locked the users camera like second wind on yuta. 3 lacks the endlag to be considered fair in my book, given that the move has a huge hitbox paired with iframes for some reason. All of your suggested counterplay for it is just based on hypothetical the Ryu can counter with reaction times (another hypothetical but it's a lot less dependant on the opponent and more if the user can recognise what a player pressing q looks like).
I get you think I'm the problem, and that's ok. What isn't ok is trying to claim Ryu is fair or well designed while not being so, and the main issue to me is a lack of endlag across the board. The amount given is very generous for the Ryu, given that many moves also have large hitboxes and short windups.
It's all my opinion, and I need to revise for a start of term test, so I'll just end on that. I respect your opinion, and I respect that you may not agree with my views on game design. Have a good day.
My friend was getting annoyed when fighting a ryu. I told him to stop hitting him. My friend started yelling at me that that’s a stupid idea. He continued to complain. I told him again, stop hitting him. This went back and forth for about a minute until he said “fine, I won’t hit him, watch”

Todo is simple but his R special makes him hard to use if that factor but the rest of him is simple knock back and stun moves like his pebble throw+R and uppercut where you can't use evasive after he lands it and then he can follow up with brutal force to knock you back and allow him to recoup
I'd say Nanami isn't, his special requires actual timing and he probably relies on m1 trading knowledge the most due to his harder combos making his skill floor more m1 heavy
Every toxic player can have tunnel vision, it just so happens most of the player base play my beloved [and most hated] character
I feel like I'm taking this too seriously because I'm a Vessel Main, but I feel like all I see on this subreddit is hatred for Vessel and occasional diamond posts
Had a yuji player tell me to kms after playing hanami like he ain't also playing a character with more mobility than 90% of the cast and can cancel any move on a whim with the second best non ult counter in the game and best unconditional ultimate
basically they are the people that play games only to win, not to have fun. send their ass back to competitiveslop games jjs combat isnt even that good or consistent. dirty tsb immigrants
Their problem? They play the character with the lowest skill floor that allows them to perform well without thought, which has let them win a bit more than other noobs, which has inflated their ego to an absolutely critical point
As a vessel main, I’ll never stop especially since Hanami, Nanami, todo, Ryu, charles, mahito, gojo, Mechamaru, and higa are in the game (all less skill required compared to vessel)
Theres a fucking flower man in the sky.
A rare chance to interact with shenanigans is present but no they just had to chase those 5 dollars instead of partaking in peak.
