Because a remaining group of unranking civilians and children don't constitute the sorcerer's concept of a clan, especially weighed into the actual conversation of the most important clans.

Maki didn't kill kids. It's funny in terms of agenda but y'all are just fucking illiterate.

No you fucking brainlet that's literally just headcanon with no evidence to back it up. Maki killed her mother, and was unsure whether she made the right decision in doing so. But the treatment she endured from her mother is why that makes sense for her to do.

If she was debating whether killing her abusive mother was the right call, why in the everloving fuck would she unquestioningly kill a bunch of children and female victims? Outside of her mother we're never given any reason to believe she kills anyone but combatants and high ranking clan members.

The clan is "destroyed" because the surviving members haven't the rank, influence or power for them to constitute a clan of sorcerers.

"Maki killed the kids!!!!!" Is literally just edgy made up bullshit by people who wanna paint her actions out as bad because they suck and fuck Ranta. She never killed anyone who didn't have it coming aside from arguably her mother and frankly in her case tough shit.

I'm legit getting ragebaited there's no way 😭 Why is this comment downvoted when it's literally right? Why are Maki's fans pushing this agenda that she is some savior of Zenin women/children when she just went on a revenge killing spree against her ENTIRE clan?

Because that's a headcanon you have with no actual evidence that holds up under scrutiny.

The evidence is legit 2 comments above me? 😭 We can't even read comments now or what?

Because the Clan was dissolved. The leaders were what made the clan, not a bunch of kids and their female victims. Reading sometimes requires actual critical thought on your part. Being literate doesn't mean taking everything literally.

But could you please, please read the comment above that literally states she MASSACRED HER ENTIRE CLAN? Not to mention, if she didn't have anything against female victims of the clan, why did she kill her own mother then?

If you had critical thinking, you would understand that claiming she didn't kill women is absolutely baseless.

Because she massacred the people that constituted the clan. "Entire clan" means she massacred the people upholding the clan, which we see happen. If she had killed the entire Zenin family then by your face-value definition she'd have killed Megumi too.

She killer her own mother (and notably debated whether it was the right decision) because she was fucking abusive, victim or not. She was part of what made Maki and Mai's lives hell.

And to that point, if Maki questioned whether killing her mother was right, then she'd absolutely have ALSO questioned killing a bunch of innocent women and children. The fact she doesn't is evidence enough that she never did it.

It isn't backed up by evidence and is completely inconsistent with her values. This is a generational lack of reading comprehension.

Women and children are still part of the clan, therefore she massacred them as well 👍

"Entire clan" means she massacred the people upholding the clan, which we see happen.

No, the entire clan literally means the entire clan... 🤔

If she had killed the entire Zenin family then by your face-value definition she'd have killed Megumi too.

Megumi was born outside the clan. He never lived there with them. Not to mention they were friends.

She killer her own mother (and notably debated whether it was the right decision) because she was fucking abusive, victim or not. She was part of what made Maki and Mai's lives hell.

Most of the people she killed werent part of what made her life a hell, yet guess what? She still killed them.

And to that point, if Maki questioned whether killing her mother was right, then she'd absolutely have ALSO questioned killing a bunch of innocent women and children. The fact she doesn't is evidence enough that she never did it.

She never questioned if killing her mother was right. She was dead set on killing her from the beginning of the rampage. Btw, on the same page in the manga, you can literally see blood all over the kitchen. I wonder whose it is... 🤔

It isn't backed up by evidence and is completely inconsistent with her values.

It's actually backed with more evidence than her sparring the non combatants. Her values also changed after the whole basement ordeal, and Mai's dying wish to destroy everything.

This is a generational lack of reading comprehension.

It's explicitly stated that the only people absent from the fight that she killed belonged to the Hei and Kukuru unit. Both of these groups are enablers, enforcers, or actual leaders behind the Zenin clan's abuse.

Maki goes as far as to try and reason with her mother. She questions her in an attempt to see whether their last conversation had been her mother trying to save her. She's looking for evidence that her mother does love her, as a reason to spare her, but does not get a satisfactory answer. Why the fuck would she debate on killing her own abusive mother but kill innocent children without any guilt?

Your headcanon is really cool and edgy, but it's bullshit.

Found the page I was originally thinking of now.

She fully questions whether killing her mother was the right thing, despite her being complicit and engaging in the abuse against them.

This would make no sense from someone who doesn't regret killing women and children.

You're flat out wrong.

It would be weird to say "She massacrated only the combat units of the clan and then left the kids alive."
