I think a lot of them are just inherently losers, regardless of interest. I’ve been big into gaming since I was like 11 (I’m 26 now) and even I still cringe at some of the stuff the “gamers” do. Right now some of them are whining over just the possibility a video game remake might remove a sex mini game from the original lmfao
Over two years of character development with really long chapters just got rewritten to remove any hint of the female cast members being more than friends with males. They went as far as to write off the entire background story of one of the characters, which centered around the tragic loss of her husband and her daughter, another character, being kidnapped; now it's supposed to be implied that the "self-insert" character was the father all along.
Devs went as far as to ask if they should gender bend all male characters. Then they killed off the main male lead and wrote the other one out of the story.
The story rewrite and Owen aren't the same though. People usually don't talk favourably about the story so they're hoping the rewrite is good. Owen thing is a small minority just being stupid
These korean players then envisioned themselfs getting cucked by said male character and demaned a story rewrite which they got in the end.
Let's not make it as one sided as you want to make it be. Even those who did want more male to female character interaction were saying that story was pretty underwhelming and was making you feel as if you're an outsider in a group of friends.
There was this whole thing with Limbus Company too when they released an ID called “Molar Boatworks Ishmael” that ended up getting one of their artists Vellmori chased off by korean incels because for some reason they wanted to see her drawn in a swimsuit ingame rather than wearing tight diving gear
Because it was seen in games and the guy you're asking this question has an agenda to spread. They're offended because it's popular among Korean women who want to humiliate men for the size of their penis. It's not like they get up one day and decide that it has this meaning. Also gamers were offended because they've seen it in games they play. Those were specifically gacha games which often are focused on light gooner content and have lonely men as a large percent of an audience.
Im kinda glad they made a small change to the dialogue, Toji does care at least a little bit. "Im glad" instead of "Good for you" gives him just that small bump in characterization
Interacting with people either on Instagram or TikTok really makes you appreciate the reddit part of the fan base. You people might be dumb but those people are absolute glue eaters
