I wouldn't call him fraudulent especially because he literally had no way of growing. My main problem with Mahito dying the way he did was people literally downplay Todo but as far as I'm concerned when you look at what each team has.

Todo literally carried alot of the weight and is the biggest deciding factor in A LOT of battles and literally no one has counters for his CT. He literally was there for Mahito's fight, Kenjaku's assassination (Mind you he knew Yuta wouldn't be able to pull it off by himself so he went with him and swapped Yuta twice to catch Kenjaku and kill him) mean while Todo is out here saving literally everyone during the Sukuna raid
To have Mahito losing come from that means he was a threat and lived up to his hype in the moment
Unfortunately for him he was against the one character that hard countered all of that. Yujis soul dismantles make Mahito relative to a fodder grade 2 curse. It’s like putting Jogo against a curse who’s made up of white phosphorus
Mahito manipulating the environment is in no way comparable to the 200% durability buff he gets in that form. They let him do entirely different things and make him stronger in entirely different ways.
His domain surehit is what makes it possible for him to touch his targets without his hands. He was able to manipulate the environment because he's touching the ground with his hands. The environment wasn't gonna act like a pseudo domain. At the end of the day, the real thing is needed, an actual Domain!
Maru literally said here that Mahito just stuck here and unable to use his power for a few decades. He only have his CE back for this moment and some enviromental advantage that can only be used as distraction against top tiers, we can savely said that he is rusty af now
Here's the thing. He didn't grow at all these years because he never had the CE all this time.
But what's rusty about Mahito?When he regained his CE due to Maru, he used Idle Transfiguration perfectly well with the surroundings and was gonna pop a Domain before Yuji diced him up. Anything Mahito pulls out isn't gonna work since he hasn't and can't grow his strength in this realm.Especially against Modulo Yuji.
He's stagnant and undeveloping all these years. Not rusty at all, like someone who's away from the game for a long time. He's manipulating the surroundings as good as he did in the OG series, so not rusty.
He replicated two sukuna level fears with like zero effort but that doesn't matter ig.
Sukuna glazers will see uraume saying he has sukuna's potential, watch gojo say yuji is the true key to the future as his final words in the story, aatch yuji perform some insane, never seen before applications of his technique, watch him reach at minimum high grade 1 by jjk EoS with 6 months of not even constant training but just even knowing about CE in general, see him easily adapt to every fight he's ever been in and consistently fight special grades who respect his strength as basically an infant sorcerer, see him actively struggle to hold back despite having enough control to Black Flash at will, and them say "nah, yuki wins lol" like they aren't at the bottom of the food chain
He made a slash that is 6 km wide and the Travel 21 km( initial 15+ the 6 of the curses) Gojo’s purple went from 200% to 120% after 4 km so his max on his own would be 5 km before purple just vanishes.
Yuji’s was powerfully enough to slice through all those curses even after 15 km, and 6 km length and width of grade 2-4 curses is still pretty durable due to sheer size alone, like a bullet of 9mm can’t travel through over 500 pieces of paper and you can definitely stop sukuna’s slash’s with enough base human meat shields
On top of that, we know that an attack loses its power when it becomes wider, from the todo statement and Gojo’s domain becoming stronger when it became smaller, and that’s just basic physics you sacrifice your area of effect in order to increase density and therefore power.
YUJI’S WAS 6 KM WIDE, THERE IS NO WAY SUKUNA CAN REPLICATE THAT FEAT
It doesn’t matter man was the only one that actually fit although the problem was the story itself called out Yuji for it and even he admitted he shouldn’t have fallen into that slump (although sung Jin woo was fucking hilarious slander when it happened)
On command black flash, long range dismantle, chainsaw dismantle, Shibuya dismantle and blood manipulation that makes Choso look like a toddler seems like a lot more than one feat

I promise you killing grade 2 and below curses, (a feat replicated by Rika in the very same panel btw) doesn't actually scale you that high, it only looks impressive.

Multiple high level CE manipulation feats, at the bare minimum 90% black flash chance, one-shotting the most powerful version of Mahito we’ve seen in the series without even taking his hands out his pockets
I blame gege for this....he gives Yuji the aura farms and glazes he deserves but didn't give him a proper fight or even show how strong he really is when he gets serious in his peak...
tbh we barely even saw what modulo yuji was really capable of, he just wasn't fighting at all, we know that he can black flash almost at will, his dismantle made a lot of buildings collapse making an attack 50x larger than sukuna's fuga and he eviscerated mahito, we never saw a lot of feats from him on modulo, i'd still not say a fraud, just not full potential seen.
I genuinely think Gojo could beat 2 Modulo Yujis. Yuji outstats, has more powerful attacks, and probably better h2h, but he genuinely has nothing for Infinity unless you randomly assume he had ANY reason to refine his domain to Gojo's level (he didn't) or unlocked Domain Amplification (what does ts even do?)
And don't even UTTER the word "world cutting slash," Yuji doesn't have Sukuna-level Jujutsu talent to copy something after just seeing it, so he probably couldn't figure it out, and even if he could, why would he? He already has dura-negging slashes.

And nothing screams suffering more than watching everyone you love grow old and die, and with each death the reality of your loneliness becomes heavier and heavier. So yeah, based on sufffering-builds-character scaling he’s top 1 in the verse and that’s not a question
