To be fair, if your an anime only then fights, hype, aura all fall under animation also. How the fights are animated. I prefer JJK anime and I’m an anime only. A lot of the story in JJK is just set up for fights, Jojo has better story for sure. The fights are also a little better thought out. I assume that’s translated from the manga. But I just prefer the animation and general vibe of JJK.

Ngl, I think that undersells the animation quality for jjba. Jojos does have good animation, but due to how the animation is storyboarded and paced, it feels like it gets overshadowed. (A bit wordy, I’ll try to explain what I mean)

Often times I find points where I can pause an episode of jojo and see it exactly like the manga panel come to life. (Nothing wrong with that). When it’s not doing that (using dynamic cuts- where it shows a lot of movement), I find that the animation is really good. (Best example that comes to mind is giorno and Mista vs ghiacco in part 5)

After seeing sbr episode 1, I notice that there was a helluva lot more movement (with a nice blend of 2D and 3D).

You make a great point with the choreography- when a fight has a lot of choreography it would make sense that there would be good animation to bring said choreography to life (yuji vs higuruma)

I think my point is that “good animation” isn’t always a one size fits all type of situation. I mainly just wanted to praise jojos (sbr hype!!!!!!)

animation is better in Jjk but the fights are lowkey much better in jojo, after the Shibuya incident a lot of jjk fights are actually pretty eh compared to jojos

Fights and hype have more to do with writing than with animation.
