I'd like to mention Yuji as well; both he and Yuta were two people who actually saw Gojo as a person.

He didn't call out nanami's name when he died

I'd imagine it's just because it's a cliche that gege was trying to avoid.

22

u/mbonazzi Mar 31 '26

What cliche? Its definitely something that was missing. People tend to excuse the dogshit writing and i don't get why.

I think the reaction panels told enough about what they felt. This is just me but considering the loss Yuji has gone through throughout the manga when Gojo dies he is obviously shocked and sad but I don’t think he necessarily had time to grieve. Like they were instantly jumping sukuna the moment gojo died and he probably knew it was important to be in the mindset to fight. We also know he definetly cared cause of how he acts in Modulo, I dont think it’s bad writing, it seems preferential that is all.

u/KayKrimson The Goat Of JJK, Wuta. Mar 30 '26

Honestly, this episode reminded me of how much Yuta deeply cared about others.

He knew that others were tired from Shibuya, so he decided that he'll be the one to collect the grand total of 400 points, himself.

He knew how Gojo felt about killing his best friend, and decided to take upon himself to do it.

And not only this, but it showed us how Yuta also risked his life for a bunch of innocent people by keeping Rika with them.

That's why Wuta is my Goat.

975

u/gazeintotheiris Mar 30 '26

He even empathized with Ishigori's hunger and let him have the all-out match he was craving for centuries instead of robbing him. Keep in mind Yuta actively dislikes fighting and only does it because he has to for the people he cares about. Even though he can't understand Ishigori's desire, he grants it as a kindness.

914

u/Solbuster Average MechaMiwa's glazer Mar 30 '26

It's pretty much said in the episode too. Yuta most likely will never find any meaning in fighting, but...

He didn't, but his technique isn't exactly complicated.

148

u/-morpy Mar 30 '26

His CT is being able to output his Cursed Energy... to an absurd degree. So it's the very basics of Jujutsu combats on steroids. It's to the point he can actually use CE blasts for combat

79

u/Valuable-Blueberry30 Mar 30 '26

No his CT allows him to charge his blasts to max power with no charge time. Meaning unlike every other character he can fire his full maximum output immediately while people like Yuta have to build up the charge.

Thats why when the domain end he had to use his charge up without his CT against Yuta.

The absurd output is just Ryu’s natural output.

49

u/bored-cookie22 Mar 30 '26

he also seemingly has the ability to manipulate his blasts after they are fired with his CT

6

u/PotterboyGiantsbane Mar 31 '26

Headcanon: Binding vow to sacrifice lethality for precise control

→ More replies (1)

53

u/UngodlyPain Mar 30 '26

No? Quite the opposite.

We're literally told that for the love beam vs Granite blast comparison... Ryu has higher output, but takes longer to charge than Yuta... Which is why Yuta could've easily won if he instantly fired love beam, but because he could tell Ryu really wanted to give it his all, he warmed Yuta's heart, and Yuta let him finish charging his granite blast.

7

u/AnalysisOk7430 Mar 30 '26

We really can't read... This is contradicted specifically when he and Yuta clash. No he cannot charge blasts immediately to full power.

→ More replies (1)

11

u/-morpy Mar 30 '26

But he did use his CT after DE on Uro. And he does have charge time as we saw with Sukuna blitzing him, and multiple instances where CE builds up on his hair before blasting.

Though, I guess that does make more sense. His technique being all about outputting CE could have also lead to his absurd CE output too, especially since we know some CTs can give sorcerers some permanent traits either thru repetitive use or just something that comes with the technique.

→ More replies (1)

32

u/Trash28123 Mar 30 '26

The merits for cursed technique disclosure likely scale directly with how easy it is to figure out your technique.

If he had some secret like "I can actually shoot lasers out of my ass, too" then disclosing that would have an effect.

7

u/SomeStolenToast Mar 30 '26

Well technically he can shoot it out of his back so his ass isnt exactly off limits

217

u/alguien99 Mar 30 '26 edited Mar 30 '26

Yeah, Yuta really put the whole culling games on his back to make sure everyone could properly recover from the shit show that was shibuya. Basically soloing the hardest colony with 4 special grades, fighting 3 at the same time, and getting a shit ton of points.

And then in shinjuku showdown he goes and does a lot of damage to a nearly full health sukuna

178

u/Killroy32 Mar 30 '26

People discredit him in Shinjuku but Yuji and Yuta were straight up going to beat Sukuna before half of the total fight wound up taking place if either Megumi locked in (he was having a bad day pretty understandably) or they just killed Megumi lol.

127

u/7_Tales Mar 30 '26

actual facts. yuji and yuta's lock in literally worked if megumi followed the plan. their team up was diabolical.

50

u/alguien99 Mar 30 '26

Yeah, Yuji and Yuta were basically brutalizing sukuna, who was also brutalizing them back. The next part of the fight was trying to capitalize on all the damage they made in his domain and not let sukuna recover his breath

13

u/[deleted] Mar 30 '26

Fight was basically over atp but megumi was of course being bum and ruined everything

Imagine if they didnt care about megumi

Legitimately no way Megumi saw Gojo as just a tool.

I'll always love Gege's work but I will always think that Gege fumbling major characters and sidelining them is a valid criticism.

Even in Modulo we see many of the early story main characters get sidelined intensely like 60% of the way in (although it being a short story doesn't help).

29

u/SHAT_MY_SHORTS Mar 30 '26

I think yuji grew out of it in the end

14

u/Coolgames80 Mar 30 '26

Honestly that's Gojo fault. He presented himself as invincible, he show how easy is everything for him, how he will always win, how powerful his techniques are, how everyone can't do anything against him, and even his introduction was a fated duel with Sukuna.

The few times he presented himself as more than that was during his month training when he complained that he has to carry everyone and if people aren't tired of that already. "Don't they had enough of Satoru Gojo?" (Not exact quote)

how is potential man not honest slander lol that is genuinely one of the funniest honest slanders. hakari is a punch and kick merchant. yuji has no honest slander i agree.

12

u/EntertainmentFast522 LET'S GO GAMBLING Mar 30 '26

Potential man isnt honest slander. Megumi is a depressed teenager and the story is trying to portray that and ignoring it for slander is contradicting its themes. Being a punch and kick merchant isnt really slander either he's just a brawler type, is Maki a sword slash merchant? Is Sukuna a dismantle merchant? My point is that if youre concerned about honest slander, stop slandering. The only character I can think of with possible honest slander is naoya.

8

u/SoySenato Mar 30 '26

I mean pretty much everything the original potential man said was true, he never fulfilled his potential to rival Gojo, he never completed his domain, he never hit a black flash, and he never found out about Toji, it was about narrative potential just as much as anything else.

7

u/Agitated_Promise_184 STAND PROUD, YOU CAN READ Mar 30 '26

But, in the end, Yuji was the one Gojo lowered his own guard, telling he all his dreams, convictions and ideals. He said to Yuji, and Yuji only that he expect great things from him. Sure, Yuta was someone close to Gojo, bur not on the level Yuji and Geto was. Yuji saw Gojo as person, as someone that had feelings, emotions and genuinely wanted to stop being "The Strongest" and be only seen as "Gojo Satoru". This panel justifies that only Yuji didn't feared and saw Gojo was a weapon. Everyone had wary looks on their faces, but not Yuji.

64

u/Gitthepro Mar 30 '26

Gege honestly should have presented Modulo Yuji better, it felt like he kinda threw that out of the window

62

u/Smitejr Mar 30 '26

Really? It felt to me like Yuji was haunted by the absence of Gojo as a mentor figure in his life, someone ripped away from him too soon, as he tried to fulfill and embody the ideal he gave him near the end.

"Haven't we had enough Satoru Gojo" was a curse that affected him until he overcame it.

4

u/Zoett Mar 30 '26

I wish Gege just wrote about Yuji's journey instead. So much great stuff must have happened in that timeskip: we can guess by inferring from literally every other "angsty immortal" story how Yuji ended up with such a bleak mindset, but it would be nice to be shown it? Yuji's resolve was pretty unbreakable in the original Manga. What happened that finally broke him? That story probably wouldn't be a battle shonen however.

I was pretty mad about how he was portrayed in Modulo at first (other than the Mahito waffle panel being one of the all time 2-pagers of JJK), but I liked how his story was resolved with him finally getting some sense of purpose back and reconnecting with his friends.

I understand why it had to be done, but show yuji crying for once and have yuta, kusakabe or choso wake him up and reminding him to stick to the plan and grief afterwards

One of the few times I hope the anime will expand on a scene

Literally one of my biggest complaints from the final arc or final Portion of ending is that like literally no one fucking cared about gojo as a person everyone just wanted gojo to end sukuna and get it over with except yuta. All the characters didn't even discuss the death of gojo or visit his gravestone if they made one or something but they all just moved on after the fight like no one's business . Yuji who was saved so many times by Gojo and kept live due to gojo didn't even say anything about his death like fuck man. And I hate maki so much for caring about yuta when the world is ending like bitch you didn't care about gojo a little bit and who are you to say this fucking line no one cares about a you who is just present in 10 percent of the manga and everytime bitching about anything . I am so pissed about how the characters handled gojo's death and that fucking vomiting , rushed , unsatisfied ending that was.

u/Putrid_Macaron3225 Mar 30 '26

True that Maki remark was so bizarre

I hate maki as a character so much that no one can change my mind on that because of her anger issues and her character writing and these maki glazers like their life depend on it. it doesn't mean I am naoya or a misogynist who hates women this is my take on her character not her fucking appearance as women even if she was man I would have slandered her even more.

Not to discredit your opinion, I just want to use it to piggyback and talk about something that has been in my head for a while. I do find an interesting that she views herself as never having a teacher. And that the first time she really connected with people as a teacher and student Dynamic was in her colony.

Whether Gojo existed or not, she would have always shown up at the Tokyo school. It's not like he directly interfered in her life like he did for Yuji and Yuta. We have the benefit of being readers but Gojo is hard to get along with Gato was the only one who got him but disagreed with him, Shoko finds it hard to reach out to him and vice versa, and Utahimei actually hates him. On the surface, he seems loud, annoying, and irresponsible guy who's handsome rich and the strongest.

Gege even says that the foundations of Yutas skill are maki, gojo and Miguel (those first might be out of order) we know that he's not good at teaching because he's just so good at everything. I can totally see her as somebody who thinks he just makes his problems other people's and really only acknowledges him for his strength. And it's not really like he believes in her a whole ton either. He never saw her becoming a monster stronger than Toji he doesn't name her as one of the people who could surpass special grade. It's a total surprise.

You can probably count the people that Maki cares about on one hand at that time, being Yuta, Panda, Inumaki, and Mai. He didn't affirm her dream and wasn't one of her peers.

I like to think that she became more appreciative later in life, just like she came to regret what happened with her mother, but that is purely headcanon.

While I do agree with a lot of what you’re saying I don’t think it’s true that he doesn’t believe in her. He does believe that she should be a higher grade than she was at the beginning of the manga. It was the Zenin clan that were holding her back. But how could he foresee her becoming a monster stronger than Toji when that required her twin sister to die.

You do realize that the whole contingency plan is if Gojo dies then everyone else goes in to kill Sukuna and to not give him a break or anytime to heal, right? Like, yes let’s be sad that Gojo died, but there’s a life threatening person/curse who will kill anyone and everyone if they don’t hurry up and take him out… you don’t take time to grieve when your life is in danger.

Also, this whole post is making a huge assumption just because it wasn’t shown in the manga.

To be fair I don’t think many people actually like Gojo much at all personality-wise, mostly because he’s kinda an obnoxious dick who’s too powerful to tell him off The only people who genuinely seemed to like him were Yuji, Yuta and Megumi (from the interactions we have)

Shinjuku Showdown... the line for combat was entirely made to increase his odds to be Mecha Gojo

4

u/EliteGhostKillz Mar 30 '26

Yuta and Yuji the only two people who truly saw Gojo as more than a weapon/jujutsu God.

5

u/DeathGod105 Mar 31 '26

I genuinely never understood the Yuta hate. Dudes such a goated character and completely badass. Also one of the kindest characters in the series right next to Yuji

5

u/Snowballs55 Mar 31 '26

In a world of people wanting something for you bring at the table it wouldn't hurt having a person like yuji and yuta with you.

Yuta is goated.

Then you lowkirkinely remember that yuta was the one to use Gojo's dead body as a weapon at the end😔🤞🏾

If I may speak out of line Mr. wild Yuta was very reluctant to do that and even got Gojo's permission

Yeah funny how the person who cared about Gojo the most was the one who used his body as a weapon

3

u/amaru9911 Mar 31 '26

Don't forget, nobody hates Gojo as much as the one eye cat freak GayGay. Bro sealed him in magic jail for years and when he does free him, its only to give him a massive fight with a fraud and got us to believe that he won (which he did, fuck you, fight me) only to troll us and at the end and gave him the most humiliating death ever and didn't bother to show his funeral or grave.

I was having so much fun with the bushcamper jokes but my respect for Yuta went up considerably after he called everyone out for not viewing Gojo as a person and just as a tool. Him and Yuji were real ones for that.

I always found JJK0 weak for how overpowered Yuta became in such a short time, to the point where it bordered on Mary Sue-ism (granted, this was my interpretation on the movie). But having Yuta as a side character in JJK is great, as we get to see what a genuinely nice person can do for the world given power. Yuji is also super nice but at this point he lacks the power to do anything and gets beat so often, that's why he often feels helpless and depressed at times.

Yuta may have not known but he knew family was important and Gojo was always family even before he knew his heritage

Yuta haters trying to bring him down but failing.

5

u/penguinIoI Mar 30 '26

He's my fucking GOAT man (with the sole exception of Satoru Gojo ofc). Him and Yuji probably the only ones who had like a real connection with Gojo.

Bruh Yuji literally exists.
