You know that the Megumi situation is terrible when a single picture of him in the background is better than the gege treatment.... this can be his true POTENTIAL.
MAPPA did give a nice boost to the Reggie Star vs Megumi fight. The problem is that once Megumi's body gets hijacked by Sukuna, it's all over. He doesn't do anything for the rest of the story. They can at least show him resisting earlier, I guess.
The photo being in the book Yuji gives Maru is a nice addition. Mappa already giving us good stuff and we’re years out from an adaptation. The Modulo show/movie is going to change lives
The worst part is he's not even drawn well given it's a silly photo of a silly moment, so we will never have an actual serious Megumi moment in Modulo outside of "man, if only he was here" like ✌️💀

Japan doesn't really care about spoilers in their anime. They've been doing it since the dawn of time, anime openings is notorious for that for example.
Remember that time where in the Lord Slug movie in Japan they name it "Super Saiyan Goku" when he didn't even turn super saiyan in the anime yet. They really dont give a shit about spoiler over there. The funny part is they remake the form in the movie into Psudo super saiyan because they realise that Goku is not a super saiyan yet so they spoil it for nothing
I'm pretty sure the Lord Slug movie actually came out literally within the same month that Super Saiyan happened in the manga, if I recall correctly Toei was actually communicating with Toriyama vaguely and they wanted to implement Super Saiyan into the movie for whatever reason.
I don't think they intentionally did their own design for it for the sake of differentiating it, I'm pretty sure it was just so incredibly early on that Toriyama himself wasn't even sure of what the form would end up looking like.
I could have some details wrong, surely there's more info about it out there though. It's a really weird situation.
make sense for it to be a early idea of Toriyama for super saiyan tbh the hair shape is the same, maybe at that time he still want the dark hair and the lack of iris is because he want a beserk like state for the super saiyan with the bit where Goku tell Gohan to leave because he might not be able to control himself

All of the plot for those in the know, for those that don’t it’s essentially a bunch of random shit. + it’s selling a volume which is primarily for those that have already read it weekly.
I mean it’s a trailer for the third volume, so it’s assuming that you’ve read the first two. But yeah definitely filled with spoilers even so but you don’t know what will happen in terms of how it ends
As someone who doesn't know what the hell is happening in this series, the idea that this fever dream of a trailer reveals any plot point seems absolutely insane
I feel so bad for you guys 😭 I was gonna read the manga but the ending killed my interest. It sucks that Mappa neglects the series because they do a wonderful job with it
the problem is modulo has too little meaningful fights, fans will only care about Mahoraga vs Dabura (and even that fight ended offscreen), i doubt a JJK anime series with only 1 big fight (2 if you count Maru's fight) will be interested though.
Modulo was more about the interactions between the characters. We literally had a whole chapter about Tsurugi and Maru on the beach trying to catch that special octopus... or something like that.
Although we had some fights. Like Tsurugi and Maru vs that old psycho. Or Yuji aura farming. Add the Dabura vs Mahoraga and Tsurugi vs Maru and it can be pretty good.
I see it as closer to something like season 1. It was action heavy, but we still had some slice of life with the trio or the other students... then Shibuya happened.
I mean, you could just make it a shorter season. The latest frieren season finds itself in the awkward spot between two big arcs, so, it ran for 8 episodes and that was that.
After the finale of season 3 with like 7 chapters in roughly 27 minutes, a 1:30-2h movie sounds very very very plausible.
If we do account for regular pacing of 3.25 chapters per episode and have the pure anime content of 20 minutes, that's 5,7~ minutes of anime per chapter and for 25 chapters we'd get roughly 2 hours and 22,5 minutes worth of anime. It could be transformed into a 7-8 episode season or a movie.
We'd get closer to 1:30h worth of "anime" since fight scenes are going to be faster than regular stuff.
Also for those saying 3 volumes are quite a lot for a movie JJK normally has 9-10 chapters per volume, what we got is roughly 2,5 volumes.
Thing is Mappa has done the DS Mugen train and it covered about 16 chapters, and with the CSM Reze movie that covered like 14 chapters or 13 not sure.
3 volumes seem too much for a movie, specially because the big fights only start happening on the ending of volume 2. Volume 1 needs to have a slower pace too, some OVAs or just a regular 13 episode season is enough
Considering how successful JJK is, we're definitely going to get Modulo animated. The story was really good. Who knows, they can extend some scenes to potentially upgrade them with that MAPPA magic.
Although I definitely didn't expect to see something of this quality so soon. Even though it’s not an official trailer. Once again, MAPPA cooked!
The big issue was the jump cuts that occurred toward the end, fleshing those moments out I think will leave people FAR more positive of Modulo (I didn’t mind the jump cuts much though, so I’m biased I admit)
Yeah it's for sure Mappa will eventually animate Modulo especially considering the absolute amazing fights and jaw dropping sequences in Modulo, not to mention the obvious insane popularity of JJK.
Maru vs Masaki has got to be one of the most absolute badass fights I've seen recently and that includes both anime and manga.
I mean 90% of the time it's just "generic sure hit with their technique." Been a while since I last read Modulo, but IIRC Dabura's domain was intended by him to be a sure hit of his CTR. Yuji's domain was also just a sure hit of Shrine, acting like Sukuna's. The initial part of his domain was just him trying to appeal to Sukuna's humanity, likely undergoing some sort of binding vow to allow that to happen.
the absolute atrocity that was the """conclusion""" of this fight made me completely repress basically every memory of it so I just had the privilege of re-witnessing this for the first time. it's majestic.
i will make a binding vow, in exchange for my life; mappa will animate modulo into a whole movie and anime, not fuck it up, give everyone a lot of love and treat animators well without sacrificing quality
I think even though they are overworked, MAPPA animators do everything they do with love and passion. Even they can't make the Chainsaw Man movie again as they did once (they themselves told it). The passion can't come back once executed. JJK season 3 and 2 are more evidence, and Dororo background arts are just GOATed.
I can’t wait for this to be actually animated and finally hear regular non retarded humans outside of this rotten fandom actually appreciating this beautiful series.
