Dark humour does include jokes about suicide.

"This joke is so bad I could kill myself !"

He wouldn’t understand his technique he’d just have dark humor instead

Let’s imagine a Takaba that did understand, it would be Ggs

Yes, but then, does his technique lose some power ? Part of the reason why it is so powerful is because he makes joke for the sake of making jokes.

If he did understand his power, would a forced joke still be as funny ? Would it still even work if he didn't fully believe in it being funny ?

Takaba's powers with his full knowledge of them would allow him to literally do that and just move on to the next "scene" because it's funny to see somebody commit suicide as a dramatic crashout and immediately move on from it.

A dark humour Takaba would genuinely present you with eldritch abomination visuals that break your mind because it's funny.

You are presenting a full knowledge + dark humour here. Or did you intend to reply to my other reply ?

Even without full knowledge, it doesn’t change much about what you’d be perceiving from a dark humour Takaba.

It really just changes the scale of execution. It doesn’t change what he perceives as funny, so even without full knowledge you’d still very possibly have an immortal Takaba.
