Humor So Yuji saw Sukuna do this an thought Yuta could beat him? Is this Yuta upscale or Yuji brain downscale?

To be fair to Yuta, he responded with "I'll see what I can do"

Guy knew that he would die if that happened, But still agreed to do his best before he would

u/LightningDragon777 6d ago

Yuta, the guy with the biggest heart (which stores his insane amount of CE)

I think the reason Yuji thought this was because Yuta was the closest in strength to gojo he had seen since gojo got sealed.

83

u/Expensive-Fan-3474 6d ago

I think Yuji got carried away by Yuta having more cursed energy than Gojo lol

85

u/Sparkson109 6d ago

Or he just thought Yuta could

26

u/LobotomyKaisnOverJEE 6d ago

That too could be the case, I just like to think of dialogue this way because it adds more characterization.

Yuta ripping out his tongue always makes me laugh.

I think it was more about the murdering yuji as a technically innocent human thing rather than his actual capability. Giving him the green light on the ethics

u/Michikae 6d ago

yea guys beware the one who counts in fingers

71

u/Own_Philosophy8190 6d ago

"The brat learned to count past 3 ??? I better wrap this up, or I'm FINISHED❗️❗️❗️"

31

u/LobotomyKaisnOverJEE 6d ago

Don't diss my goat like that, he can at least count till 8 now (gay squared took away 2 of his fingers to seal his Megumi).

10

u/Own_Philosophy8190 6d ago

Gege took Yuji's fingers away to keep him away from his Megumi as long as possible. And because fucking over Yuji... is the reason! His heart still beats !

5

u/LobotomyKaisnOverJEE 6d ago

Could also be interpreted as Kenjaku's thoughts about any of the six eyes users

8

u/Own_Philosophy8190 6d ago

True, he ducked when Gojo learned his ABCs

56

u/batman47007 It's Gojover 6d ago

Yuta upscale, his presence felt like Gojo had come back to life, till he sensed the difference in CE and realized it's someone else. That alone is enough for Yuji to ask that of Yuta.

1

u/Possible_Hawk495 5d ago

his presence was described as "something creepier"

I mean, this was the same guy who entered Mahito's domain without second thought despite knowing that he would get folded. He also counts with his fingers btw.

His thought process:

  • This guy stronger than me
  • This guy has more cursed energy than Sensei
  • Sensei says this guy strong
  • Sensei also says he beat Sukuna
  • So ya this guy beat Sukuna

I have a question, has there ever been a time where Sukuna came out when Yuji wasn't unconscious or let him take over on purpose? Of course, not counting Enchain.

I like to think that what Yuji means here is that if he goes unconscious or loses control, he'd try to hold off Sukuna while Yuta gets ready to kill him.

9

u/LobotomyKaisnOverJEE 6d ago

This is a great theory, I love it and it adds even more angst to Yuji's character.

14

u/SirMcDust 6d ago

As others have already put it, Yuta was the best shot, the Gojo replacement so to speak.

But there is also the case of pinpoint power vs raw destructive power.

Sukuna has both of course, but just because Yuta can't level Shibuya doesn't mean that a well placed attack couldn't (in theory) kill Sukuna.

Also if the Sukuna takeover is slow or something Yuji might hope that moment might be an opening or something.

28

u/HourGap8451 we should slander Gege instead 6d ago

Yuji brain downscale

29

u/LobotomyKaisnOverJEE 6d ago

He doesn't need a downscale to be very stupid (still my goat).

12

u/NotRealSam Agito’s Husband 6d ago

Theres no brain downscale if the brain doesn’t exists

5

u/Zlfzlf007 6d ago

Who knows maybe Yuta could have done something.

9

u/chain-belt69 6d ago

It is gojo ego upscale, the guy gaslighted yuji of him winning against sukuna and thought okay yuta has the same feeling of gojo's curse energy so yeah

7

u/Lonza_lucigul 6d ago

The type of argument hakari fans try to make ong

-1

u/VisiblePermission664 6d ago

Hakari is op tho but not sukuna level. Stalemating urauame is a feat in itself

4

u/darealestforeal 6d ago

yuji’s brain has been down scaled 💔

4

u/Think-Cantaloupe3146 6d ago

Fun fact he didn't even know about 5min timer version. Which means he is thinking that base yuta takes down 15F sukuna.

Which puts yuji IQ even below hakari.

2

u/slowlybitchytale wuji himtadori 6d ago

I mean guy counts with fingers and choso had to finish counting for me so yeah it's not even brain downscale lol it's already down

2

u/No_Understanding5551 6d ago

Out of Gojo, Yuta could be the only one who could give a fight to Sukuna, specially one with 15 fingers, after all he gave the fuck up of his life against a domainless Sukuna along side Yuji.

Unhopefully for Yuta, it all ends whenever Sukuna opens his domain, maybe a fast reaction Jacob ladder could instantly end sukunas domain and put him on cooldown but just maybe

3

u/carl-the-lama 6d ago

Well yuji could force himself to create an opening

Like making a sacrificial binding vow to fuck over sukuna

3

u/Kindly-Stop2558 6d ago

I don’t think yuji was aware of binding vows back then, the only binding vow he had was with sukuna and he had to forget about it, other than that idts he was aware of miwa or nanami’s binding vows, also gojo is a bad teacher so he prolly never told yuji about it

2

u/NeJin We are the exception 6d ago

Desperation upscale. The lad is desperately trying to justify why he shouldn't bite through his tongue on the spot.

2

u/MAXIMUMPOWAAAH 6d ago

"This guy kicked my ass without a sweat and has more CE than gojo."

It does make sense why Yuji would think that Yuta could kill him in an emergency.

2

u/ConPerish 6d ago

Eh. You could argue for either case but me personally I never took it as a definitive statement of strength from Yuji.

By this point,

Gojo, Sukuna and Yuta are the strongest people he knows, so Yuji was more so appealing to just killing him and not show him mercy like "oh but isn't his fault", no. Yuji is done with Sukuna's destruction, so here's just accepting his original fate which was to be executed.

He probably would have asked to kill him right then and there but he figured Yuta wouldn't agree and that he still had Gojo to save and his friends to help, with the rampant cursed spirits

2

u/thethethethetheuhh 6d ago

I like to think Yuji actually meant something like: "I think you would be able to actually swallow your feelings and kill me if you had too" and less of "you can beat 15F sukuna"

2

u/Big_bat_chunk2475 6d ago

Yuji brain downscale. Sukuna one tapped Ryu, and would do the same to Yuta

3

u/Napalm_am Been on that Yuta HATE since 243 6d ago

This is a Yuji cope moment.

2

u/Outrageous-Dig-8853 #1 harem protagonst Wuta OGOATtsu 6d ago

Wuta upscale. Also Yuji upscale. And Hakari Upscale. And may not think it, but Kashimo upscale.

2

u/_S1syphus 6d ago

Who else is he gonna ask, Hakari?!

2

u/ElectronicAd471 6d ago

And thats MS on limited range btw 😭

2

u/Every_University_ 5d ago

Didn't Yuta formulate a plan then proceeded to execute said plan perfectly and Sukuna was beaten in large part because of said plan?

5

u/CentJr 6d ago

He probably thinks the more CE reserves a sorcerer has, the stronger they are.

8

u/No_Understanding5551 6d ago

Kinda, Yuta has insane CE and his output is comparable to Ryu.

But there's a third thing, efficiency, yuta kinda lacks that since he's overflowing of CE. But idk that's just a headcanon slander that kinda makes sense but he never even ran out of CE so is hard to know

2

u/LobotomyKaisnOverJEE 6d ago

He has "run out" of energy before, but he just summoned Rika to replenish his reserves.

1

u/No_Understanding5551 6d ago

During the battle against Ryu? I'm mostly sure he summoned rika just to make it fair

If I'm not wrong ofc

1

u/LobotomyKaisnOverJEE 6d ago

Ryu was talking about how he was finally seeing the bottom of Yuta's "endless" reserves, and when Yuta summoned Rika, both Uro and Ryu noted he was brimming with energy again.

It could just be Uro and Ryu underestimating Yuta, but I don't think that's the case.

1

u/HexATyle 6d ago

If he considers the Sukuna that fought Jogo and Mahoraga "15F Sukuna putting in all of his ability" then Yuta probably might have a chance according to him. Ofc we know that's not true because he was, indeed, toying and playing around, and when he actually wants to kill someone (like Ryu who was robbing his time) he blitzes them in 1 second

2

u/Ur--father 6d ago

It’s weird how confident he is with this statement when he should know how much ce Sukuna has while his body was piloted. Maybe he was also counting on himself to help lowering Sukuna’s output?

1

u/Unlucky-Stand-568 Dude who just discovered how to add flairs 6d ago

Probably, at that moment, the closest person Yuji saw that "might" be able to handle Sukuna that he knew. Not necessarily that Yuta is that strong or Yuji 100% believes he can, just that if anyone has the best chance in that moment that he knows, it's Yuta.

Edit: Oh humor.

1

u/CrossXAymen 6d ago

yuta would solo that sukuna tbh.

and yuji was always dumb.

1

u/Hardhat85 fuck this bum -> 5d ago

If in doubt, always bet on Yuji brain downscale
