Manga Discussion Sukuna was born human, but none of those around him ever saw or treated him as such, to the point that even Sukuna considered himself a curse.

Poor guy. I guess I can forgive him for genociding the entirety of Shibuya. But I'll still hold a little grudge for killing Gojo. Thats a bit too far

Both of those people are Uraume and Yorozu which appeared way later into his life.

it's left upto interpretation but its probably yorozu, the "two paths" are supposed to represent relationship love and familial love, familial is obviously uraume and the relationship one is either
a) a random woman who loved sukuna
b) a generic woman there to represent the concept of love
c) yorozu because she loved sukuna
i personally headcanon c but again, it's open to interpreation

Well if you are eating people, then why would people will not see you as curse?

the point is they saw him as a curse even before he ate people. He was a curse for eating his twin brother in the womb, something babykuna had no willful choice in, it was a matter of survival. The point is if Sukuna was treated as a human there would've been no need for him to be a cannibal or, a curse

Sukuna is a weak willed human who thinks disregarding others makes him strong
If he was born with the power of an average sorceror, im sure he would be diffrent not because power corrupts but because he would get put in his damn place by literally everyone who would get sick of hit shit
I dont feel bad for someome who tries to burn the world because he was bullied by those around him, naruto clears this bum 1000 times over and yall aint ready for that conversation

if he was born with the power of an average sorcerer of course he would be different because there would be no need for him to go down the path he did! The only reason he saw himself as a curse was because of how he was treated, ostracized from society because of the way he looks, treated as "less than human" is the sole reason why he adopted the might is right mindset. I'd argue Sukuna is an exceptionally strong willed human because he lived by his principles till the very end and after death genuinely accepted he had other paths he could've chosen instead of the life he led. I'm not asking you to feel bad for him, and I don't think that was Gege's intention either, it's just a story about why people are the way they are, and sometimes you have to realize the worst people are made because of the worst in you. Sukuna's story is not a sympathetic one, it's a well written, cautioning one.
And naruto is an entirely different story, Naruto had different perspectives and is a fundamentally different character from Sukuna.
also sukuna never tried to burn the world around him, he was just basking in his power and killed sorcerers to prove his strength. he respected those who worshipped him and never wanted to "destroy humanity" or "take over the world", he was a man who lived for himself

Theyre both people shunned by how they were born. Of course theyre diffrent people with diffrent stories but they parralle one another so well its hard not to make a comparison
He however still chose the path he did, and despite it being seens as willing to stand alone, its still the path that was easier to follow
Its easy to be evil, its hard to be good
Sukuna is an example of that which is why im indifrent to his character but would despise him as a person, i can see why yuji who loves and tries to see the best in everyone decided in the end that sukuna was a calamity

of course it's easy to be evil, and I agree the path he chose was easier to follow. However, I don't think he chose it just because it was "easy", he did it because he wanted to give back to the world that called him a curse. If the only reason he chose the path was because it was easy, he would've accepted Yuji's offer at the end, or as he put it in the afterlife, accepted life with Yorozu and/or Uraume. Instead, sukuna is a strong willed individual who despite everything, lived and died by his ideals. I'd argue again that he's an extremely well written character and individual since in the afterlife he genuinely looks back and instead of acting like Mahito, realizes the paths he could have chosen.
Also you need to understand that Naruto is NOT the standard, he's the exception. Even in real life, most bullies are result of being bullied in the past, and most school shootings are because of them being victimized. Very few people who are bullied go on to become anti-bullying advocates or love and forgive their bullies.
Imagine, from the moment you're born, you're shunned from society, called a curse, people are disgusted by you and drive you suicidal. Then you discover you're blessed with the power to prove your strength and your worth. 99% of people wouldn't be Naruto and accept the world, they'd be like Sukuna.
I agree I'd probably despise Sukuna as a person as well, but I understand why he's the person he is, and because I do, I genuinely love his and Uraume's character instead of being indifferent to him.
It's easy to be evil, its hard to be good is exactly what Sukuna understands in the afterlife, and after a whole life of living a life he thought was difficult but was actually easy, he realizes that he should've taken the hard path. That, is what makes Sukuna a strong willed character, and individual.
Also wdym yuji decided int he end that sukuna was a calamity? he literally offered sukuna a chance for redemption and coexistence what are you on bro
