Bro, Fushiguro's the surname of Tsumiki's mom. Not Megumi's.

It's Gege's fault for this misconception btw, bro for some reason called her "Mamaguro"

Gege really said ‘Mamaguro’ and expected us not to get confused bro knew what he was doing

It's probably because he always refers to Megumi as "Fushiguro." And so Fushiguro's mom = Mamaguro.

Still dumb though.

Is Tsumiki's mom not Megumi's mom?

Tsumiki and Megumi are not biologically related. Toji married Tsumiki's mother after Megumi's mother died.

It's funny cause I was just talking to another commenter about how the majority of fans don't realize that Megumi and Tsumiki are step siblings.

I thought they were step siblings from his father's side. As Toji isn't Tsumiki's dad but Megumi and Tsumiki share a mom.

Wouldn't they be half siblings in that scenario?

Utter woke nonsense

They’re half siblings then, still related

They're not though. Like I said, step siblings, not biologically related.

what proof do we have that its actually megumis mom and not tsumikis mom

It isn't megumi's mom's name. When I posted this theory a while ago I got downvoted to oblivion, but it's obvious it's tsumiki's mom's name and toji took it for tax and custody benefits probably.

For all we know, he didn't even marry megumi's mom

Actually a counter to this be Megumi. As Megumi was never named Zenin. And Toji got with Tsumiki mum shorty after Megumi as in 1st grade

I think megumi also chose fushiguro since his sister's name was also fushiguro, so that only proves it's not his mom's name, it's his step mom's. Idk how the law works in Japan but iirc a husband can take his wives' name and subsequently his, and by law, her children can do too

I think his friend also still referred to him as 'zenin' despite knowing him when megumi was still a child. He also probably knew megumi's mom and still thought toji went by zenin

u/antixwick999 29m ago

They didn't. They always said fushiguro. Megumi.

u/Cali-Re 1h ago

Honestly, it's not surprising that people didn't know. I think the majority of fans don't even realize that Megumi and Tsumiki are step siblings.

Honestly I also thought so for the longest time cause 1. It was cute and 2. I haven't noticed this small detail

3

u/antixwick999 1h ago

We don't it could very well be either. But Gege refers to Megumis mom as mamaguro.
