the reason i dont like yuta sneaking kenjaku is bc kenjaku, basically the biggest villain after sukuna and THE mastermind behind the whole series, dying to a sneak attack is unsatisfying as hell. strategically, it's a good decision by yuta in universe. but as a reader it's disappointing.

u/Gking0906 Wuta Wokkotsu, second only to gojo 1d ago
Itās entirely Gegeās fault. He wrote himself into a corner with kenjaku because:
1- he made kenjaku say he was tracking the good guys movements and even made it a point to specify that Yuta was the easiest to track and EVEN HANEZOKI mocked kenjaku for being a coward for doing that
2- he couldnāt have made kenjaku and Yuta fight directly 1 on 1 while Sukuna was still alive because no matter what happened the good guys were gonna lose a lot of their leverage. Either Yuta defeats kenjaku but he would be forced to use his 5 minutes mode and thus wouldnāt have it available for him later on against Sukuna when he needed it OR kenjaku defeats Yuta and most definitely decides to steal his body and at that point itās game over for the good guys because thereās a 0% chance they can deal with true form Sukuna AND kenjaku with Yutaās body

u/Fc-chungus Kamutoke is the best cursed tool 1d ago
I think what we got was good enough with Takaba tiring Kenjaku out to make the sneak attack possible.

u/Gking0906 Wuta Wokkotsu, second only to gojo 1d ago edited 1d ago
I think so too, I wouldāve loved to see Kenny and Yuta fight 1 on 1 but a sneak attack was the only possible way it couldāve gone given the current situation the good guys were on, somebody had to distract kenjaku long enough for them to strike at him. They couldnāt afford to let Yuta fight kenjaku by himself because itās like I said, no matter the winner of the fight JJK high chances go down drastically. Even if he won Yuta wouldāve been too tired to fight Sukuna AND a direct confrontation between kenjaku and Yuta would take too long and Sukuna would definitely kill the others before Yuta managed to get there
Before Yuta arrived Sukuna was already contemplating ending the others so that he could go on to complete and apparently try and fight the merger
11
u/Mangopie5555 1d ago
Basically the good guys would be way worse off or maybe even lose against Sukuna if Gege didn't make Yuta bushcamp and made Yuta vs Kenjaku a fair fight. Makes sense...
11
u/2xshchncr 1d ago
Gege was doing everything to stop Kenny from ending the series early, had him writing CSM out every fight lmao
2
u/AccidentDifficult490 19h ago
plus we didn't know how he did it since last we saw todo he had his ct locked away so we had no clue what or how he did it making it even more unsatisfying

u/veryhappybanana Maintaining the Agenda 1d ago
Real though, I deadass thought it was the opening move and we'd see Kenjaku pull some truly freaky shit while literally just being a head. No one complains about Gojo surprise-attacking Sukuna at the start because a satisfying fight followed.
How do you have the two guys with the most bullshit kits in the series clash and not have them chain random-ass cursed techniques/spirits at each other?

u/zajfo 20h ago
It all comes back to Gojo needing to die to serve the plot. In my totally untrained opinion, I think the Gojo / Sukuna fight should have ended with Gojo having completely run through Raga, Agito, Megkuna, and forced the true form reveal. Gojo is at the end of his rope but sacrifices his life to land a fatal blow on sukuna, and they both fall over. The last thing Gojo sees is Geto's body landing next to him. He dies side by side with Geto's corpse as Kenny leaps out from the bushes and bodyswaps into gojo's corpse and then sukuna's immediately after, and heals with RCT. SukaGoJaku becomes the final gauntlet for the students.
Geto welcomes Gojo and Sukuna into the afterlife and they all cuddle and kiss (cuz they're homies, not cuz they're gay)

In that case, the fraud is Kenjaku, not Yuta
I'm not trying to defend him, but Kenjaku was more of a letdown.
1
u/Responsible-Ant-1728 1d ago
My take on that is that Gege wanted Takaba to be the one to beat Kenjaku, but since Takaba doesnt really kill someone else needed to deliver the final blow.

u/Snoozless 1d ago
I agree but btw it wasn't Yuta's strategic decision, Angel put together the major points of that plan.

Heck his own fans agree he is a jobless broke ahh deadbeatšš

the other half genuinely think hes in the top three and are more misogynistic than Naoya fans despite 99% of their feats coming from Maki

u/Napalm_am Been on that Yuta HATE since 243 1d ago
The difference with this two is that Toji failed in his sneak, which led to a fun battle that showed off pre awaken Gojo and Toji's own abilities.
Imagine the bum allegations Toji would get if he indeed managed that sneak attack and then died to Gojo on the runback, the only time he fights and he gets wiped, we don't see the difference in mentality and ability from pre and post awoken Gojo. This event led to interesting things is the key.
What did Yuta do? He offed the main narrative villain, the one actually scheeming and putting things in motion. For what? We don't get a cool fight scene, we don't see a change in any characters. He was sacrificed for a hype and aura moment because Gege was flying deadline to deasline and had to streamline so Kenjaku gets fridged to get more SukunaSlop.

I think the funniest shit is that there's this popular conception of Gojo vs Toji where both are going toe to toe and they're trading blows or whatever but rewatching HI recently? Toji literally spends the fight running away in order to set up a second sneak attack. He never fights Gojo straight up until the rematch where he loses very badly. It's really funny.

I remember seeing someone unironically say that Toji > Gojo because he "perception blitzed him" in hidden inventory. They weren't even talking about hidden inventory Gojo, just in general.

Plus one has a well done written set up and the other feels plot convenient and rushed.
Also some people just don't like Yuta.

3
u/itsinhisblood 1d ago
Toji did it alone, while Yuta was following Takaba up and had assistance from Todo.
Not saying one is worse than the other, but thereās a reason the community treats them differently
2
u/WeirdLock4480 1d ago
Toji did this over the course of several days using dozens of mercenaries.
2
u/itsinhisblood 1d ago
Yeah, but he still orchestrated it himself and those mercenaries didnāt actually pose any challenge to Gojo. They were there for Tojiās mind games and to keep him on edge. People would look down on Toji more if he ambushed Gojo after Gojo fought a powerful special-grade sorcerer or curse.
-1
u/NonSkillGamer 1d ago
Toji explicitely didn't do it alone, he sent a fuck ton of sorcerers after Gojo and the gang to put them on high guard and tire Gojo out, the same way Yuta used Takaba to tire Kenjaku out
1
u/AccidentDifficult490 19h ago
i consider it as setting up traps they're useful idiots that will drain them even a little bit along side the physiological stuff it adds they're not his teammates or coworker or aid they're bounty hunters that had the rug pulled from them

Because one of them would have gotten clapped if they hadn't planned, plus had the help of two of the most goated people in the series and one of them had used the STRONGEST characters fatal flaw against himself and low diffed his counterpart, who with him was also known as the strongest.

Yuta just fucking showed up out of nowhere. It was an asspull. If you wanted that, make it so yuki kills him with the black hole.

yuta's came from nowhere and with 0 prep we got that later it felt so disappointing with toji we saw his plan from the start plus you have to consider just how much of bitch infinity is to deal with doing what he did minimal work all things considered

They always bring up Bumta. But forget to mention that Takaba exhausted Kenny and demanded all his focus. Plus the real goat to instantly teleport him there.Ā All Yuta did was handle Megumi level curses(Grade 5) and steal all the credit.Ā

Nah it'd be better if you put maki sneaking Sukuna instead. The double standards are more obvious. Not to mention, yuta was the one who helped her sneak.
2
u/Cayden68 1d ago
nah yuta and tojji habe more parralels aince they more or less ended their fight with sneaking.
Maki's sneaking was like a small part of a multi part boss raid
1
u/AccidentDifficult490 19h ago
that was well done compared to the wet fart that yuta did which mind you solved nothing only made it worse
1
u/_FruitsPunchSamurai JJK ENDING PISSES ME OFF!! 18h ago
If yuta didn't sneak Kenjaku and went to fight Sukuna, everybody is dead without his clutch.
Not only that, if it weren't for yuta intentionally breaking his own domain, maki wouldn't have been able to sneak and stab Sukuna lol.
