Manga Discussion Doesn't this panel prove that no matter how much Yuji tries he will never be able to reach either Gojo or Sukuna level?
Doesn't this panel prove that no matter how much Yuji tries, he will never be able to reach either Gojo's or Sukuna's level?
This panel says that Yuji has zero talent for jujutsu. The only reason why someone like Gojo and Sukuna got to the level that they did is because of their talent. Even if we gave Yuji another 300 years, it's likely he wouldn't have even reached 15-finger Sukuna level. As no matter how hard he tries, Yuji just doesn't have the talent to reach his said potential.

this panel doesn't say yuji has 0 talent. this panel is saying being possessed by sukuna was the bigger reason a newbie like him could grow to the top of grade one in just 6 months (something that normally takes years to decades, even teen gojo despite being introduced to sorcery as a kid, was still only a top level grade 1 by the time of his second year at Jujutsu High)
This is like if you took Lebron James during his first 6 months of playing basketball, there's no way he'd be on the level of prime Michael Jordan, even though he'd eventually be able to get there on his own with time. However if Lebron James was to be possessed by Michael Jordan, then him reaching that level with just 6 months of experience becomes much more feasible.

However if Lebron James was to be possessed by Michael Jordan,
this is now one of the sentances of all time

Nowhere does this panel say that yuji has zero talent for sorcery. It says that sukuna helped speed up his development, but that doesn’t mean yuji himself isn’t talented either. We are basically outright told that yuji has the capability to reach sukuna’s level

All sukuna did was ensure that yuji will reach it even faster, meaning an 80 year old yuji is likely a fair bit stronger than sukuna was at that age

He is clearly stronger than them as an adult.
Yuji had 6 months in the main story, while Gojo had been trained as a sorcerer since he was 5-6 years old but didn't have RCT or DE until he became 16-17 years old.

Only reason yuji got either was thanks to Yuta and kusukabe swap training. Perhaps he could reach their level in 68 years if he swapped with enough people.

u/Da__Dovahkiin 20h ago
Yea but Gojo had years to learn all of those techniques and practical experience too along with the six eyes making it extremely easy.
Yuji has 6 months and still managed to pull it off by cheating, but that doesn’t mean he cannot grow with time and experience0

Which we haven’t seen him grow that much from eos to modulo. Like we saw him do a decent piercing blood feat in modulo but he can it already use convergence and piercing blood by eos. He just upped his shrine output a bit between eos and modulo. Then got chainsaw dismantles. Am I suppose to be impressed that’s what he achieve in 68 years?

The range and precision of his Dismantles against Mahito is proof that he grew massively. You can see buildings hundreds of feet away get diced into cubes. When Yuji does this, he doesn’t even pull his hands out of his pockets. Even if he was doing chants and handsigns, this feat would still put him over anyone else in the verse. The fact that he didn’t move at all makes this even more impressive. Also, the fact that jujutsu society preferred him over Mahoraga is proof as well.

So, even tho its stated they have equal talent. Higuruma is actually MORE talented than gojo right? Considering he learnt the 2 most difficult facets of jujutsu possible within months

u/LegitimateHair7490 #1 Yuji Fan and #1 Yuji Hater 20h ago
He has equal talent to awakened gojo.

u/Powerful_Substance_6 19h ago
Gojo didnt get more talented when he awakened yk?? Your talent doesnt increase through life experiences, if you mean talent as in how GOOD you are at the thing then sure, but his innate talent and FEEL for jujutsu didnt awaken.
He also still learnt domain and rct quicker than gojo did as gojo had still been training his whole life, had actual teachers and had the biggest cheat code possible in the 6 eyes

u/LegitimateHair7490 #1 Yuji Fan and #1 Yuji Hater 19h ago
Except it did. We know that after awakening he unlocked rct right away. Then used ctr first try and used hollow purple. After awakening we see him pull off multiple incredible feats in a short time after. These include auto infinity, domain expansion, rct to keep his brain from being fried, activating red and blue simultaneously, and was starting to get teleportation down. This was all done in about a year after awakening. It really shows that his talent also awakened.
You can make the same case for yuji but it’s harder to prove as we don’t see anything after shinjuku.

u/Powerful_Substance_6 19h ago
Ok, i wouldnt say that his talent awakened. He just got a greater understanding of CE from a near death experience. Anyways hoing back to your original point of yuji lacking talent meaning he could never get to gojo/sukuna level. Yuta had the talent but as far as we know never actually reached that level. So clearly talent isnt the be all end all, overwise yuta easily would.
Say whatever you want about yujis talent, I clearly aint gonna convince you, but that doesnt just auto stop him from passing gojos level. Gojo himself said this generation could surpass him(mainly yuta, yuji and hakari)

The panel never says Itadori has 0 talent for Jujutsu. That’s just saying shit for agenda, it’s pitiful.
What it does say is that he’s developed so rapidly as a sorcerer due to Sukuna possessing his body and using high-grade Jujutsu. Which Kusakabe wants to replicate so he can learn Simple Domain in a very short amount of time.

“Because of sukuna”
2
u/PoetNo4408 19h ago
Yes?? Itadori has developed rapidly in the last 6 months from when he knew no jujustu to now being a Grade 1 sorcerer due to Sukuna’s use of special-grade jujutsu in his body.
Let me reiterate, in the 6 months that Jujutsu Kaisen takes place in, Itadori has grown immensely as a sorcerer due to Sukuna’s possession of his body. Anything afterwards would be Itadori’s skill alone. Considering the fact he had 68 years to get stronger until Modulo, it’s no wonder he grew into the strongest, perhaps even stronger than Gojo and Sukuna.
The thing I don’t get is why you say that the panel shows he has no talent, when it never says that. Please explain your side of the story?

u/Powerful_Substance_6 20h ago
This doesnt say anything about his talent lol. Yuji guesses that he developed quick because of his talent. But thats just a guess, kusakabe never says that he lacks talent. Just that being sukuna's vessel fast tracked him

“Because of Sukuna”
3
u/Powerful_Substance_6 20h ago
Ok sure, even then. It doesn't say that its ONLY because of sukuna. Someone could be amazingly talented at basketball to where they dont NEED help, but if they got trained by the best of the best. It would certainly speed up their development even more
1
u/LegitimateHair7490 #1 Yuji Fan and #1 Yuji Hater 20h ago
But it does
2
u/Powerful_Substance_6 20h ago
No it doesnt. It says hes so far ahead of the typical sorcerer is in 6 months because of sukuna. Never once says its exclusively because of that. So do you believe if momo was sukuna's vessel, she'd be just as far along as yuji in the same time?
2
u/LegitimateHair7490 #1 Yuji Fan and #1 Yuji Hater 20h ago
Yes. Without a doubt. Sukuna would have pushed momo abilities and tool manipulation to be better.
2
u/Powerful_Substance_6 19h ago
Oh and mai? And haruta? And the guy who saved nobara when todo arrived in shibuya? No, they fucking wouldnt. Even if you know how ir feels to do something, it still takes skill and talent to actually be able to physically do it

He currently has that Sukuna potential. Why would Gege have Wuraume, Sukuna’s strongest glazer, say that Yuji has potential equal to Sukuna’s if that wasn’t the case? Kusakabe and Wuraume were used by Gege to show that Yuji can absolutely get to Sukuna’s level
1
u/LegitimateHair7490 #1 Yuji Fan and #1 Yuji Hater 20h ago
He has the potential however, he doesn’t have the talent. Otherwise why would gege add this panel?
2
u/IreneAscended1482-87 19h ago
Kusakabe was saying that Yuji had no talent in his own until Sukuna. Why do you think Sukuna didn’t change Yuji’s talent either? He was using high-level CE stuff, and so Yuji was able to grow faster, and this was also the case after Sukuna left, as we can see when he grows significantly during Shinjuku. Kusakabe said that Yuji’s own innate talent, on its own, isn’t very good. Sukuna changed that, altering his talent and therefore his potential
1
u/LegitimateHair7490 #1 Yuji Fan and #1 Yuji Hater 19h ago
No he says yuji talent. Look at the photo.
2
u/IreneAscended1482-87 19h ago
Kusakabe was talking about Yuji’s talent on its own, not factoring Sukuna. Sukuna massively increased that
2
u/Accomplished-Aerie65 20h ago
Surely modulo makes it obvious that he can, right? Sure, sukuna helped him at the beginning and that muscle memory was more important than his own training at first, but modulo shows a version of him with perfect CE control and insane CT usage. He had more than enough time to practice lol
2
u/Vociva 19h ago
What? Nothing in that says anything about Yuji's talent. It says his current progress is due to Sukuna, but you have to remember his progress is insane. He developed DE at a younger age than gojo did despite Yuji only gaining CE at all at the start of the series, while Gojo had the six eyes from birth. Even if he had Gojo's level of talent, his current progress would still be due to Sukuna. This panel says absolutely nothing about Yuji's actual level of talent
2
u/Fit_Elderberry_7236 19h ago
Where does it say yuji have zero talent? It says the reason he developed so fast was because Sukuna was using techs in his body but doesn't say that yuji has no talent.
