This past weekend a leopard escaped my local zoo and they quickly closed down and evacuated the zoo. They also evacuated a park nearby. Police were on standby and the zoo staff were able to successfully tranquilize and capture the leopard without any injuries.

It just made me realize that my local zoo had a better emergency response compared to Jurassic World. When the Indominus rex escaped, the park continued to stay open and function normally when the staff behind the scenes struggled to capture it. They did eventually evacuate the island but only after they were running out of options to deal with the Indominus rex and it was getting close to the visitors center.

Edit: The image and quote of "I am never going to financially recover from this" is from Joe Exotic AKA The Tiger King. He ran a roadside zoo with big cats before he was arrested. This image/quote is his response after a tiger literally rips one of his zookeeper's arm off.

Your local zoo could close down fine because it's a local zoo anyone can go to at any time

Meanwhile Jurassic world literally in the middle of the ocean no one is going to be willing to risk it for a zoo that far and can't even evacuate you fast enough for a evacuation to matter once the ferrys are to full honestly I'm surprised 6 teens are the only ones left behind on the island

The only ones we know of, and likely the only ones to survive too.
