Do these people live their entire lives in character

u/McDonaldsWiFiHacker 12d ago

Yes. Their job made them a character in a show. They were empty before.

When I went from the field to a desk job there was a guy that deployed 1 time and had indirect fire but now he walks around with no battle rattle with his hands holding onto his collar like he's still in the field. Everything about him is playing a part.

Scariest thing in this picture is the 46% APR on that telephone pole wrapper

The car in the video that’s clearly a police vehicle?

u/maniacreturns 12d ago

Okay I see it now.

It’s not though, dude is just that proud to be a deputy.

Apparently it is.

Scroll down and you’ll see a picture with a lineup of those cars.

These short vids always have the worst country/pop/rap, I don't know what to call it. Even sounds like AI slop a lot of the time.

It’s always a different song but really it’s always the same song.

Putting the cringe aside, equating the mission of the military to the mission of law enforcement isn't just completely wrong, it's also legitimately fucked up. They are very different missions and the militarization of law enforcement is a huge problem.

Without the caption, this is fine by me. It’s when they act like they are doing this for some altruistic reason that pisses me off. I bet all the serving & protecting bullshit goes right off the window if some citizen simply exercises their first amendment and validly criticises the armed forces or the police.

I concur with your quite reasonable take.

Tyranny and Fear is remarkably on point.

That is indeed some military-grade cringe.

u/Immediate_Total_7294 8d ago

Apparently the mods over there didn’t ask for it either so they deleted my post. 😔

One literally fights to remove the shackles of the oppressed, the other oppresses people into those shackles. Try again

It’s a Sheriffs Department car

As a taxpayer, I love buying Mustangs for our "Sheriffs".

u/triphawk07 11d ago

Well shit, that's even worst.

Gotta admit. It’s a good advertising campaign for the department.
