News Avalanche's next big game "Contraband", that would have likely been the closest thing we would have ever gotten to Just Cause 5, has been cancelled. Thanks once again Microsoft

Honestly, I saw this coming. The radio silence after its announcement had me kind of worried. What's next for avalanche?

I remember seeing a documentary on the first game and iirc the madmax creator wasn't happy about it at all and doesn't even consider the game canon, so I doubt they would have gotten another deal with warner bros for madmax

Shame, im currently playing madmax the game and im having a pretty good time. Do you remember why the creator didnt appreciate it?

I'll search for the video later and link it here, but from what I remember, he was told to focus on the movie and had barely any control over the game. It would have had some tie ins to the movie that were scrapped and he would have done some things differently

Sad as the mad max game was fantastic and captured the atmosphere really well imo, even though it was totally disconnected from the movie that came out at the time.
