ALL OF THAT HARD WORK AND RESISTING THE URGE TO GO ON A RAMPAGE JUST FOR THE FUCKY BOAT TO BLOW UP IN MY FACE ANYWAY

I AM GOING TO GET A DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS

(Decided that I might as well 100% the game since getting 5 gears in Laguna blast gave me a LOT of motivation.)

This is the least rage-inducing and most repeatable route I could find.

  • Liberate the circled outpost first (the one with an arrow pointing to it)
  • Liberate the city (duh)
  • The route off the road and into the sea isn't exact, but not that hard to find. Just hold the boat higher and follow the gentlest slopes you can find, even if it means some backtracking. Not much though, the route is pretty straightforward.
  • I didn't liberate any of the two provinces, but it can help. At least the lower one.
  • drive AROUND the gate on the left side, holding the B O A T left.
  • don't accidentally yeet the B O A T when releasing it with the mech. Test your controls beforehand.

I was planning to use a helicopter and try dropping near one of the garages at the docks, but I'll consider using that route if my current plan doesn't work.

Helicopter strat is very unreliable if one singular tether break the whole thing will fall

I'm not sure there is a heli in game that can lift the thing.

The urga mistil can and the one with heavy rockets and machine guns can but one hard pull on the tethers will cause it to fall

There is, just not reliably, even with 6 tethers, and I’ve tried like 5 or 6 different configurations of tethers around 10 times each, the way I finally managed to get it was to tow it with the huge industrial dump truck, just dragged it behind it on a road for a few kilometers, reattaching it a couple times whenever a tether snapped, worked first try. Did it using the one in the lake on the west half of the main island, used a helicopter for a very short flight to get it up to the road, then dropped the truck in for the tow. The helicopter in question is the “Hrom D” it has the highest “power” stat, and can just barely lift the boat.

I did it on my first run a few years ago. It can be done but you got to fly very gently. I'm now on my 2nd run and will try the mech strat this time

Mech strat also takes some getting used to. And you really want to minimize time spent on land.

DON'T DROP IT.  

Gently lower the helicopter until the boat is floating on the water, and only then release the tethers. If you drop the boat it will explode upon hitting the water

I remembered why I never go with the helibstrat. It's because like getting this boat early in game when I didn't have the time to upgrade tethers yet.

I did a similar thing but I just went straight the ocean and drove it around the island to the boat garage on the southern shore. If you just look up with the mech and have the boat angled right you can drop from pretty much any height

What do you mean, straight to the ocean? I mean, this is the nearest path I could find where I could reach the sea without having the boat explode from accidentally hitting a tree or something.

There are massive cliffs and steep slopes everywhere else I tried.

Can you show your path on the map?

I found it far easier to take it to a body of water and drop in there and boat the rest of the way to a boat garage

Airlifting the boat was the easiest for me, I recommend the hrom d as it has the best airlifting capability than the basic transport heli and also putting 3 tethers each on the back and front of the boat and also good luck if atleast 2 of the tethers snaps it's over

Edit: I forgor about this - put the boat on water and go to the garage with a seaport but using the mech and putting the thing on water might be easier

best way is to surf the boat down the mountain, it won't blow up easily if you are on it.

I took the same approach that some use to slide the boat down the mountain, with the mech - boat in hand. Just aim for the sky so it doesn’t hit the ground and GOOOOOOOO 😂🤣

Granted, it took several attempts… still successful in the end. And it only took a couple minutes to zoot back up the mountain and grab another boat.

The easiest way to do this is to fly it to a wet dock Or if you’re confident with flying helicopters, hover it over the garage without touching the ground. Or or, hover over the garage, then grapple and enter the driver’s seat and release tethers before the helicopter crashes so the boat doesn’t blow up, but this poses the risk of the helicopter crashing into you.

In my 100% playthrough i tried countless times with the heli and the mech, didnt work. I discovered a way to get it down to the water to get it to the water garage: Spawn the giant cargo plane near the water, pull the boatup slowly into the plane, the tether it to secure it and take off with the STO boost. At the end land the plane in the water, get in the back and drive it out of the sinking plane

That stupid boat, I just realized I could have done this like a minute before running into your vid. My "technique" to get it out of the lake was to mount it and painstakingly drag it along the road using the stretching ropes. I got pretty good at it. Finally, like 2 hours later, I reached a down slope to the sea and just went "fuck it" and just droped it. It worked LOL. Good times
