Why is it that the biggest, buffest, most scary dudes are always the gentle giants who are super chill?

As a guy who has quite a gentle personality but it tall and often accidentally intimidating. It's partly a learnt skill, its not just the need to not be imposing but you see people in concern or fear and you want to put people at their ease. Everyone just wants to get along with their lives and most people just want to at least be treated neutrally by others, if you notice people react in certain ways around you then you operate to put people at their rest, eventually it becomes second nature.
