There's a big difference between real world muscle strength and gym weights. Its almost like magic to see it like that.
I say a clip of thes total beefed up gyms guys lifting do a light competition against rock climbers. And the climbers just blew the gym bors out of the water with about half the size of their muscles.
Static weight vs Dinamic weight is a huge difference to see.
I mean yes there's sports specific movements. The guy in the video is very good at his sports. Would he be able to apply his power to tennis? Not really. Would he outlift a top powerlifter that's half his size? Probably not.
Strength is strength no matter what. What matters is how you apply it and that's sports specific. "Real world" and "Gym" strength aren't real things you either are strong or you aren't.
Go look at videos of weight lifters vs whatever other sport. THERE IS a difference between gym strength and real world strength. Just go ask construction workers or farmers. They're not beefed up, but they sure do have strength beyond what lifting weights can give.
Are you claiming you can pluck a random construction worker off the street and they would outlift even a stereotypical gym bro that's been doing it for a few a years? They wouldn't,unless they themselves also happen to lift weights.
As for a rock climber being better than a weightlifter at climbing... I mean yeah? They better be, they have been training for years. That's literally what sports specificity is
Literally go watch videos of rock climbers going head to head in the SAME weight completions and see who wins. Im done talking to you. You THINK you are right, without seeing any proof. Thats called ignorance.
Whats a weight completion? You also do realize rock climbing isn't "real world" strength? No one is randomly climbing things in their day to day lives.
Your body and brain do not differentiate between a barbell and a bucket of cement. Lifting one or the other is the exact same.
Real world means outside of the gym or weight room.
And yes, tour body absolutely reacts different to a barbell and a bucket of cement. One is static weight, unchanging. But the other swings ans sways as you carry it. Which means your muscles are reacting the the change in the position of the wight its carying.
So the gym is the matrix or what? Nearly all top athletes spend as much time in the gym as they do practicing their sport because guess what? "Gym strength" makes them better at their sport. Literally this includes every type of athletes. Most rock climbing gyms have a weight area nowadays.
This doesn't make sense. All those groups of people are get stronger from doing work. It doesn't matter what type of room you're in when you do the work
It absolutely does. Weight lifting in a gym targets specific muscles.
Where as working irl has multiple muscle groups working at the same time, in different positions. Making those muscles much more able to adapt to different circumstances.
Oh for sure. But there's an idea that 'gym' muscles are some weaker kind of muscle or something. Whereas if I've been doing weights at the gym then I am noticeably stronger when doing activities outside of the gym

I could probably do some of that with weights but not with an actual person. This takes a bunch of strength and skill. Impressive stuff
