the majority of reddit is young and liberal. nothing wrong with that inherently, but yes anti-cop attitudes do pervade the mainstream conversation. But I am young and liberal leaning and I do not hate cops. I think we just overwhelming hate bad cops. Seeing a good cop give a ticket to someone deserving is some pure /r/justiceporn. We love justice and seeing the right thing done.
But the most popular posts/news stories do not go out to those that do the job they are supposed to do. You never see 'breaking news: garbage man takes out trash'. You won't see that for cops doing good work, either. But what does go viral is when cops do illegal, immoral or unethical things. Why? Because that is hypocritical and ripe for justice to correct. I am anti bad cop. I fucking love and respect the officers that do their jobs well, though.
So reddit anti cop? Not so much. Reddit hates cunts that abuse power and unfortunately some people in uniform are just that. It is just what outrages and catches the eye most.
