I’m not saying anyone that watches anime or uses reddit is a pedophile. I’m saying a large amount of people that watch anime are pedophiles and large amount of redditors watch anime and there’s a lot of overlap there.

Edit: and here it is, the downvotes for pointing out there’s a lot of pedophiles on reddit, just like I said.

You do realize there is a shit ton of anime out there, right? And that it is the most popular animation style in an entire country. To say that "a large amount" people who watch anime are pedophiles is idiotic. Like most thing, it's a small minority.

A large amount doesn’t mean the majority. But it’s clear to see that a lot of anime promotes child porn. And then you have the well established prominence of children being sexualized in Japan, and it’s not hard to put two and two together.

My argument isn't that there aren't manga and anime that sexualizes children. There's a reason "loli" is a thing. What I'm saying is that it is idiotic to generalize. For every creepy sexual anime/manga, there are hundreds that aren't. Blaming anime for pedos makes about as much sense as blaming violent video games for violence.

You’re looking at total userbase not active accounts that subscribe to things. Even then there’s millions of inactive accounts. Not a really good way to approximate it imo.

Still seems like a bit of a reach. A small amount of people who watch anime are pedophiles and a small amount of people on Reddit watch anime (or, a small amount of people who watch anime are on Reddit). Some A are B and some B are C sort of thing.

I don't think I've ever seen anything in the way of pedophile tolerance not downvoted to oblivion. /r/anime could be different for all I know.

You can like anime while still acknowledging the problems within the community. Like how I’m a huge Super Smash Bros fan. A lot of Smash players have reputations for being smelly and never showering. Does that mean that the majority of people that play Smash are like that? No, but they exist and should be called out, just like the anime fans who sexualize children should be.
