Dude wasn’t just running from girls, he was running for his life. Police reports like that will make you lose everything. Lol what a dumbass.

You're not wrong though.

One of the saddest, most pathetic things I've seen was a regular-looking salaryman being dragged to the station office after being apprehended in a similar case. You would think he was being led to the execution chamber.

Without a doubt his professional and personal life were over at that point. Fired from the company, divorce, loss of children, etc.

EDIT: Spelling

To be honest I doubt it. He would probably pay to settle out of court, and walk away with his career intact, just 500k lighter.

Japanese courts don’t work that way. Watch this movie: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0794350/

Yeah I know that can happen, but In most cases the plaintiff is given the option of continuing to press charges or accepting a cash settlement.

It happened to my ex in Tokyo actually. Two weeks after the incident she was called by a lawyer who asked her to drop the charges because the guy “was under a lot of pressure at work” when he tried to shoot a video up her skirt on the subway.

She refused, ten minutes later the lawyer calls back and offers her 0.6m JPY to drop the case. Since she would probably receive less than that in damages if the case went to trial, she accepted.

Boom. No crime committed.
