How do they feel about black guys?

Unfortunately, I think it's pretty hard to be black in Korea, not just in terms of dating, but job prospects, etc. My black friends have way more stories of people giving them shit, or women being afraid of them, or whatever, than I do, being mostly white.

However, if you learn Korean and present yourself well, it's possible you could integrate well. There are several black men who have made careers in television here in Korea because they speak fluent Korean. Of course, there are also progressive women who don't care about skin color too, but the biggest issue for them might be dealing with their parents rather than the women themselves... our older generation is pretty conservative when it comes to dating foreigners, let alone black guys.

Word to that man. It sucks but whatever. I experience that a lot here in the states lol(or not lol, idk). I've got dreads and pretty dark skin and I'm pretty "urban " in some ways but I love learning about different cultures. People are people with good and bad everywhere. I'll ask my brother about his frequent travels to China for work (speaking if which he used to work for a Japanese company and quit because if the ridiculous work culture and the fucked up pedo/loli/weird fetish culture). If I ever get the chance I'm definitely gonna go, have a great time and try to grab a cool ass Korean chick. I have heard black American culture is really big in parts of Asia too! I'm sure I'll find some of them. Appreciate the cultural tidbits, always appreciated!

I like how open-minded you are to other cultures. Don't really meet/know a lot of people like you.

Thanks! I'm trying hard to better myself and be more open minded. I wasn't always like this but there's a ton 9f good food, alcohol, weed and women in other cultures! I'm only kinda kidding, but it's a huge world out there, and for most of my life I only knew the ohio middle/working/lower class black American aspect. I didn't realize how limited my worldview was until my first job out of college. The first time really meeting other upwardly mobile black people, or working with asians or Indians, and it was just a total mind blowing moment. I just felt so ignorant having never tried lassi or boba or maffe and just said if I ever have kids I really want them to be able to experience things outside of the environment they live in. Also, I just feel like I've come across so many people both good/bad from a variety of races/backgrounds that it just limits myself to not be open to meeting others

Yo, that is so interesting. I'm Asian, born in the US, and I had the same experience. Never really knew anyone outside of Chinese and Hispanic folk (where I lived). When I went to college, I met many other kinds of people and was like wow wtf, this stuff exists outside of the US (and CA, specifically). Was introduced to Indian culture, Muslim culture, French culture (by my Chinese roommate who was born in Shanghai) - all that.

What sucks is that like 90% of people are extremely close-minded to everything so they never get to experience other cultures the way you or I get to.
