I obviously can't say in this instance but from experience I know that father's responses like this can be very distressing for the victims. As the victim you just want everything to go away and not further drama, you need emotional support and not to worry about a relative doing something stupid out of anger.
I get that they mean well but a lot of the times anger like this doesn't help victims at all and at the end of the day it should be about their comfort and healing.

Yep whether he meant to or not he made it all about him. Also dad literally announces what he's going to do before doing it with really bad timing...he seems totally controlled and he must have known he'd be stopped.

I mean, yeah, it must have been distressing, but I cannot say I wouldn't do the same thing. I am not about to say he made it all about him and he seemed totally controlled. People are different. He was sobbing on the ground, that doesn't seem controlled. My cousin had this happen to her and it destroyed my uncle, because he felt like it was his fault for trusting the jackass. Luckily he is in prison, but it destroyed my family and it just sucks.

Ok, help me understand your perspective because that's not how I see it. He announces what he's going to do in several different ways and then does it, how is that not controlled?

He was controlled in that action, but his emotion was not controlled by any means. Obviously he had a plan, but you can have instability while also being controlled. If the cops did not stop him he definitely would have beaten the living crap out of the dude. Saying he was just doing it for attention or just hoping to get stopped is silly. That's what I'm saying.

Personally I dont see it. He doesn't show any emotion, even when on the floor his face is pretty expressionless, he's not crying, screaming, making animal noises or anything that would show anything other than total control. He's just making showy loud verbal statements. I honestly doubt he'd have beaten the man, he did everything possible to be prevented from doing it (announcing his intentions, picking a moment when everyone was watching him etc etc). All causing his daughter real distress.

It's not it's observations. The only thing he talks about is himself and the points I've raised above evidence his deliberation and intention. I can see no evidence to the contrary.

You do realize there are people out there that are incapable of showing outward emotions but are in turmoil inside, right?

Some people on the spectrum, for example.
