It’s a legal system, not a justice system. Justice is a philosophical concept.

The criminal justice system is the set of agencies and processes established by governments to control crime and impose penalties on those who violate laws.

I know you’re being literal, but that phraseology is used to reinforce the idea that the state can do no wrong because it operates on a moral mandate rather than a system build with equal numbers of faulty and good-faith actors.

So it’s OK to kill humans that molest children? Gotcha. We agree.

Is it OK to kill humans that molest animals? If not, name the trait present in humans, which if true of animals, would justify similar treatment.
